Grrah! Dial up! NOOOOO!!!

You know what? Dont you just HATE when the cable man comes out and tells you "Oh your modem is FINE!" but umm...nothing...no connection..and he leaves! Well if it hasnt happened to you..be THANKFUL! I called my cable company about a month ago..they are like "Oh okay we will have someone out there tomorrow between 5 and 6. If they dont come by 9, call us." "Okay!" I reply. Well 9 rolls around..noone. I called back up to the cable company..they say my appointment was cancelled by me..stupid huh? yeah! lol its now been a full month. The repairman showed up one day and is like "Oh youre fine...I hate when people try to get free cable and their stuff is fine." So I dont get angry although I want to..and then..Calmly I say.."But I have no connection...see?" *clicks internet explorer* Nothing...*clicks AOL* nothing...*clicks Opera* nothing...so im like "See??? NOTHING!!" It just makes me wanna smack him. Well he leaves and says its fine. I keep calling cause this thing is obviously not working. They keep saying my appointments are being cancelled by me!! How stupid is THAT?! Anyways..now im on Dial up..I'll have you know it just took me 1 hour to DL a song..how sucky is that??? and its STILL not finished...*sigh* I guess im just being dramatic..but jeez..whoever invented dial up should be shot!

If the cable end is fine, as he says, then check your computer to make sure everything's configured properly.

Although that bit about your appointments being canceled by you is extremely sketchy...

Don't you dare complain. I have had dial up since I got my computer. Count em, that's five years!!! I don't feel sorry you. Why? Cuz no one feels sorry for me! Anyhoo, I hope your cable company stops being a lil bitch and bows down before you and fixes your connection. Till then, IM if you wanna talk about how much dial up sucks, because believe me, I feel your pain. (I sound like the biggest hypocrite right now, don't I?)

I used dial-up for the longest time...until we FINALLY got a new computer. And let me tell you...CABLE IS GOD.

The funniest part is that I remember back in the day people used to complain about the problems with using cable, and even today other companies try to knock it. I have had ZERO problems with cable, and we've been using it for a couple years now. I don't know if it's maybe just that I'm lucky, or that my provider is really good, but I think that it's well worth the money you pay.

I still have dial up, i can't convince my folks to ditch it... oh well, i'll be out in a few months and then i'm geeting broadband for my x-box, and wireless for my laptop.

I feel sorry for everyone that has Dail-Up. I was there up until a few months ago..... now I dont know how i got by whithout broadband as much as I am on the internet.

I remember having dialup it sux! I hated it when I was on the comp editing webpages I have and all ofg a sudden a call comes in and wam your offline. I had to start all over again.
