End of Dreamwave

So so so much drama going on that it's not cute anymore.
First off, I should mention that CONFIDENTIAL LETTERS should STAY CONFIDENTIAL. I don't appreciate what an egotistical person has done- and that he changed it suddenly without acknowledging how I was write. Anywho.

Aside from this.

Dreamwave has offiiially died, and now I'm back to square one. I'll be applying to Marvel Comics, checking to see if Udon Comics is looking for someone, and probably get things ready to send through to SLG. As an ex-colorist, I'm used to it...and now that's really what I want to do until I solidify my artwork to be...not...sucky? Anywho.
I hope something comes back out from Dreamwave; it was fun working with Transformers while I did. I'm not trying to make this a big deal; I had my moment in the comic world, and now I know a little more about what I want to do with my life. It was a positive experience- minus the lack of checkage, but that should hopefully be fixed (through confidential means).

I dunno why I'm writing this here, really. It's not like a lot of people here were strong Dreamwave fans- and it's not like a lot of people here knew I was a colorist for them. I'm gonna try and get the two DynamicForces variant covers I did, just so I can have all of my work at hand. I'ma miss Dreamwave, but I hope for some sort of "resurrection" to come.
Popular opinion seems to throw the TF franchise to Devil's Due; hopefully my good friend Joe Ng and fan-favorite artist Don Figueroia can back up into DD' if this is the case.
I dunno. Maybe I just felt like expressing all this. I'm not depressed...well, I kinda am- but not because I'm out of a job. Maybe I was looking for more of that "rush" to finish a deadline or something. If Dreamwave' comes back, I'll probably try to come back to it- but anywho. For the time being, I can focus on what works I've been owing people- the 10 SD's for that one site, those many PO's I have to do, and a few other things, I guess.

But meh...part of me feels a little killed. Not disappointed or nuttin...not pissed off at the situation. Just, I dunno. Maybe I'm hoping 2005 has something more to it than what has started. I seriously need some great news to come through, though. Not neccessarily concerning this situation, but moreso something to cheer me up......if that's even what I need?

Sorry for the loss Bee. DW had a lot of great ideas that they were working on and some wonderful opportunities for people who had been fan artists to break into the business. I personally will miss the TF comics as they were doing a great job with them.

And might I say that I am sorry that you are now without a steady job, but remember that all of PO will be pulling for you and hoping for the best.

yeah...but hopes mean nothing if I don't do anything for myself. I just worry that now that I've tasted the industry, I'll go crazy until I get back in. But hey...patience and stuff, you know?
I'm a little more broken up about this...talkin with my DW buds and it's a little solemn now... I hope they all find work back in the industry. They're too good to not share they're talents with us... I dunno...

At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, I think I need to think for a bit.

NOT overly dramatic at all. Try out doing something else for a while that you've never done, see how your applications to Marvel, UDON, and the others pan out (btw I think you'd be excellent doing colors for Iron Man, but that is just me) and don't rush yourself.

And just because it might not mean much doesn't mean we won't hope for the best anyway.

always keep your head high dude...that all i can say. I knew of your job through Rev, as showed me that you did work for Dreamwave, and all i have to say is just keep on truckin man, and dont let it worry you. this type of thing happens often enough, and if anything, you will be able to get another job, as soon as they get your application

Hey, if anything, you could always get together with the other DW buds that you have and start something fresh. You said that they have too much talent to let waste, so use it, and make your own group. If anything, it can help get you guys on your feet and ready for the big-time companies, or even flourish into its own big company.

Just my opinion though

Hope your travels yield you bountiful fates, my friend! And if anything, PO is always out there to give ya a hand...or better yet, an ear/eye/whateverthehell

Official word from Hasbro is that there will definately be more Transformer comics this year. No clue who's getting them, but if it is DD then there might be a really good chance most of the DW crew will be brought on. It's not much, but it's something.

I'm sure you'll get back in the game. Despite your opinion of your work, it rocks.

Dude Marvel would rock. Like Rev said, Ironman/War-Machine would be probably good since you're already used to drawing machines.

I've submitted work now to UDON and to Devil's Due. Right now, I'm thinking of Marvel- but my work is a little..."not MARVELous". Gonna check Image comics right now...
Hopefully something will come up.

EDIT: OOooooh...right. They only hire creator owned books and stuff. Maybe a PO book through Image, peoples? Or not. hehe. ANYWHO. Back to the checking around thing...

Actually Marvel's got some manga-like books right now. Most notably Mary Jane. They also have a creator owned imprint too. Forget the name, but Powers and Kabuki are on it now.

You could also try Anarctic Press. Their stuff's creator owned and manga.
There's also Dark Horse

A PO book to get you work at Image would be INCREDIBLE! And I'm sure we'd all happily give you the right to make use of our own characters so taht you can go hog wild with them
