Has anyone seen these for sale individually... besides at Red Octane? (I refuse to give them my money) 'Sides, they're charging $40 + $10 for shipping. And that's the same price as the game+drum as-is. pewpy.
I swear I saw them available before Christmas, but it's highly possible that there was crack involved... because they're not around now.
I've done a number of google searches, but have come up empty handed. If anyone comes across one, can you please give me a heads up?
I've got to rock out with BOTH drums, yo!

Why do you need the drums and not the game? |

I can't say I've actually sat down with Donkey Konga. When I was looking into both, I checked reviews and videos. Taiko was much better received, in my opinion. Not to mention that there's actually an entire series of the Taiko games in Japan. They had something going for it.
I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. Straight out, it's fun and abnormally addictive. I hear the same from the people that come over... nobody's been afraid to check it out and it's been hard to get the sticks out of their hands afterwords.
The songs range from Pop to Rock to Classical to Anime to Namco Originals. Like any game of this type, you can take or leave some of the songs. My minor gripe is that the pop/rock songs aren't by the original artists. Studio bands. It works in most cases, even better than the original in a couple, but there are some that are just... eck.
Like I said, I haven't played Donkey Konga hands-on, but I know Nintendo's reputation for making fun games. I figured that would be a pretty safe bet. But I took a chance with Taiko and am really happy that I did. It's turned into an obsession. |

Donkey Conga is pretty good. Really fun, but better with more people. And as with all dance/play games like this, there's good stuff and bad. But Namco did have a hand in development of Konga so I don't think it'd be that much different. I've wanted to get my hands on Taiko myself, but I want to play it first. |
