I haven't read all of the replies to this thread, but I want to apologize for my stupid comments about relaying information to Al-Queda. It was thoughtless and immature of me to say that without thinking of the ramifications of them. I wasn't trying to hurt anyone that may have experienced a loss on 9/11. Again, I'm sorry if I have possibly offended anyone. Please excuse my lack of thought.

Ok, Now I have read all of those posts, and I have only one thing to say, SupaG, you are out of touch with reality, and if you think that this years Madden was superior, then you simply DID NOT play ESPN. Madden was superior before, it is not now. It is mediocre at best, compared to the full beauty of ESPN. The player models are more well done, the tackling is more realistic, on defense you actually have to WORK at taking down a strong offensive player, since you can actually break out of tackles thru skill training and skill. In Madden, just bump someone, they go down, same tackling engine I'm sure, from Madden '95. Oh yeah, plus a little thing called Weekly Preperation, scout the other team, and train/drill either individual players in skill positions, or the whole team, or hey, worried that your starters on your first team will be retiring next year or that they will suck up too much of your cap space, and their skills will diminish? Then just train your 2nd or 3rd squads.

The "Hit-Stick" isn't a good thing either. I was watching a buddy play, he threw an interception, and was like, no big deal, I'll force a fumble....which he did on the next play. That isn't realism, thats the kind of arcadey "NFL Blitz" type of Bulls#!7 that should stay in an arcade game.

The only good thing I have to say about Madden, is that Peyton Manning in the game, runs his checks and audibles just like he does in real life..........oh wait, he does in ESPN too.

But believe what you want, and if you ever start doubting it, drink a little more of that "special" Kool-Aid that EA sells, I hear that they bought that from Jim Jones

4) Games will suffer (tho this is just my opinion). Basically time has shown that when you have no competition, the product stagnates/regresses. Madden (and most sports series in general) has become a cliche of $50 roster updates and "this year's gimmick". NFL 2K5 has the same thing as The Hit Stick but it's called something else.

So kind of like a socialist gaming downfall here? Stagnation and then regression. Sort of philosophical way to put it Razer.

I guess the way I fight it is as I always have. I buy my EA football fix then wait for like 5 years to buy another. Kind of cheap I know but hey it works for me. All in all I think EA is good in some areas, not so good in others. Then again, I am a little odd so my opinions may vary from the mass. For the most part I am not too much into sports games. Right now all I have is NCAA 05 from EA. I love it. I think it's great but it can get sorta old after a while.

End of line
