I wrote this on Valentine's Day, of all days... Feedback is appreciated.

Heartache is probably the worst feeling in the world. Your heart twists the way you'd twist a sponge to get rid of the excess water and dish detergent.

Your breathing is labored, as though you're expecting someone or something to creep up from behind and surprise you.

Your eyes fill with tears -- tears that meld together and crash down your silken face -- and you sob with everything you have inside of you.

You wish you had someone or something to hold onto. Warm. Gentle. Loving. Comfortable. Someone or something that will alleviate your heartache.

But for now, you are alone. Alone with your thoughts, which run wild with memories... Each whispered word. Each significant glance. Each golden laugh. Each tender moment. Each silence. Each time your hopes were shattered. Over and over and over.

You have questions. So many of them, each one with its own answer. Some, you already know the answer to; some, you may need to find the answer to; some, you will never know the answer to. Still, those questions haunt you.

But you know that one day... somehow... your heart will heal, and you can (and will) love again.

For real.

Ah, Heartache...A foe I know all too well. We have danced many a dance together Heartache and I. You're very right, Heartache is horrible. The pain of uncertainty, anciety, loneliness and yet there's always that glimmer of hope that is responsible for the greatest part of heartache.
