A good idea - these things I try to do anyway by myself when RP'ing, so I could naturally be a part of this enterprise. The rules about people getting moved along are good for someone like me who only checks up on the boards once a day. For backgrounds, if each particpant provides their template, then things can move along pretty easily. |

as far as things go with signing over rights of a character, if everyone just did something like identify right off the bat what their character was like, what they did, and all the nitty gritty, then you would have a character template to keep on record for the heads of the program.
If anything, i see a future template being made in the process. would you like me to work on it in the future? |

Here is a template for RP's as provided by Tobs. Good stuff.
General Template for Characters
Note: this template is to help serve in the case that you are unable to RP with your character, or if you will be unavailable for a short period of time. Also, this will help you organize your character: Who they are, what they do, so on and so forth. It will also help us get to know your character a bit more.
Name (your character’s name):
Nicknames (if your character has any nicknames):
Age (how old your character is):
Gender (gender of your character):
Type of Character (the type of character that has been issued to your character):
Background (the history and background of your character. Tell us a bit about yourself):
Basic Equipment (the equipment that you’ve been issued as your standard equipment):
Added Equipment (extra equipment that you’re carrying around with you)
EXAMPLE

Type of Character: MageTech Knight
Background: Zeke is a fairly knew MageTech Knight, yet is already very adept at utilizing his equipment. Very agile and strong, he is capable of holding his own along with his companions. His life previous to enlistment was a very basic one, his first call to the world of action being his call to duty.
Basic Equipment:
-MageTech Armor – The standard issue MageTech armor, it contains slots for equipment of Cartridges that contain the ability to imbue the armor with an elemental property. Its normal durability is strong, yet restricts movement slightly.
-MageTech Rifle – The standard issue MageTech rifle, it feeds off of the same MageTech Cartridges that are used in the armor. Doing so allows the rifle to fire different types of blasts, depending on what cartridges are used. Ammo = 7 Shots until reload.
-MageTech Blade – A MageTech Blade which has the same technology as the armor and rifle. The Cartridges allow the blade to take on different elemental attacks.
Added Equipment:
-Lightning Cartridge – Cartridge that imbues slotted equipment with Lightning attacks / defenses
-Flame Cartridge – Cartridge that imbues slotted equipment with Flame attacks / defenses |

NAME: Airius Origen
NICKNAME: Reverend
CLASS: Priest of Mod
PO JOB: Spritual Redeemer, Emissary of Order/Chaos, Chosen Warrior of Mod, Burden of Dilligence: One of the Four Pans of the PO-pocalypse
SERIOUS BACKGROUND: For over countless millenia the war between Order and Chaos had been at a stalemate. Neither side could wipe out the other, and their attempts at each sending out five emmisaries into the Miniopian plane had yet to give one force a distinct edge. The Chaos Emmisaries Mondain, Surbifeh, Kirahaad, Jirokk, and Ulovia had been battling Aftershock, Ithandar, Kasoliux, Dervas, and Vuulcid for command over the resources of Miniopia with little change in the status quo, till Mondain discovered that there were certain individuals capable of hostings each emmisary, allowing for free movement unchecked in the realm.
By a twist of fate, Aftershock and Surbifeh were each unitentionally bound to a child host born on the night of All Hallows Eve. Upon reaching an age where the child was becoming plagued by posessions resulting from the bickering of his unwanted guests, he was sent to a monastary under the protection of Father Ardonais to learn how to better control his 'demons.' Airius trained many a year in his monastary, eventually learning to channel the powers and personalities of the two emmisaries through a pendant. Eventually, Father Ardonais told Airius that to better serve his Lord Mod, he would have to live the life of a nomad, travelling around as a priest.
During one of his adventures, Airius was captured by Mondain and succumbed to Surbifeh's power, driving him to become an agent of Chaos in Miniopia. It was only his defeat at the hands of the Time Elemental Musashi Daigro that shook him out of his posession.
Musashi and his fellow Elementals Sperrit Terramyr and Shinobishi, along with the wandering samurai Takao, and the added firepower of Mage General Lews Therin Mythral & son Damion Mythral confronted Mondain in a pocket realm of the Chaos Plane. Mondain had been syphoning the power of Riselm the Elemental Dragon of Light, granting him immeasureable strength that the combined party was unable to sucessfully battle. It was only the timely intervention of the deity Mod, Mod's gift of power to Airius, and numerous attacks on the mad Chaos being that broke Mondain's hold over Riselm long enough for the elementals to end the Chaos Emmisary's schemes of conquest.
PO BACKGROUND: Airius had left his precious monastary with the hopes of ending the torment that the wars of Order and Chaos afflicted on humans, and to ease the suffering that he found along the way....
....Instead he ended up broke, so he had to take to fighting for money. Thus did Airius Origen join the Pocket Otaku Tournament!
EQUIPMENT:
Head: A simply headband wraps itself around Airius's head to soak up sweat and keep the hair out of his eyes. When wearing the various power armors of Order and Mod, he wears a head gear the protects his temples, chin, and ears.
Arms: Arms are usually laid bare to the elements, save when in Chaos and Mod armors when obsidian armor plating covers them up.
Hands: Again bare save for armored wrist bands to protect the joints. Gauntlets are worn with all armor configurations. Focus Ring rests on left ring finger, can be used to amplify one attack to ten times it's power before needing a recharge. Hand crafted by Sperrit, can only be used by Airius.
Body: Very light body armor under white robes with brown priest cloth covering them. Tied around waist with a belt. Again, when in any armor configuration Body is covered by strong armor usually taking the shape of large shoulder guards.
Feet: Boots never seen because of robes, but usually seem to be brown. Armored boots replace in any Alignment armor
WEAPONS:
Ruler: Airius primary weapon is his mace Ruler. Tempered to accept Order, Chaos, and Mod energies, this highly dense weapon is rather light to handle but hits with greater force than put into the blow. Ruler can be 'locked' into place when being used with the Armor of Mod, keeping the weapon from leaving the gauntlet.
Law: A two pronged shield that appears when either Order or Mod armor is being used. As a shield that attaches to a gauntlet's forearm, it balances between defense and acting as an offensive weapon.
Anarchy: The war axe that appears when Chaos armor is used, and acessible to Mod Armor, Anarchy is a rather sturdy weapon that while cannot be thrown like Ruler is far more deadly to be hit with, as it's blade superheats upon contact, spreading Chaos fire.
SIGNATURE POWERS:
Order: The rules and natural flow of the world. Airius can do a lot with Order, though primarily he uses it to heal injuries and sickness. More defensive in nature, Order often is used as a reactionary measure to opponents. This includes but is not limited to creating shields, absorbing blows, and dispersing area affects.
Chaos: If Order is rules, Chaos is passion. Chaos can rage and burn like a fire & brimstone, cause small random events in probability, strike a foe from many yards away, and overall really annoy people fighting it. Chaos sacrifices much in protection for a chance to win it all, and it's healing ability is limited to almost none.
Mod: Airius is a holy man, and sometimes prayers are answered. In essence Mod or 'Life' power is Airius when his being is whole. He can acess his control over Order and Chaos though not at full power, plus the abilities of his own spirit. Mod power is attainable by virtually anyone, and has been before, but Airius is by far the youngest to reach this level of awareness
SPECIAL MOVES:
Prayer: Using Order, Airius can heal any wound that was not a natural occurence. So unless you were born with it, it can be mended.
Chaos Burn: Using Chaos, Airius can also set fire to just about anything that doesn't have some Order shielding to it.
Ruling Judgement: With uncanny accuracy, Airius hurls Ruler at an opponent with a lot of pain beacause of it. When charged with any form of energy, Ruler can become either an energy seeker, or be controled by Airius from afar
Confession: By pooling enough strength, and either Order or Chaos power, Airius can strike Ruler on the ground to cause a cloud to rise up and encompass himself and his opponent. Airius's sight will not be affected though.
Angelic Retribution: A nasty move that allows Airius to 'swap' injuries with someone else. Also been called 'Pariah' by those who it's saved, Airius can either heal someone from near death, simply transfer a broken bone to someone else. The recovery time is what makes this move tough.
Chaos Bolt: Lightning crackles from Airius as his opponent is struck by concentrated Chaos Energy.
Alignment Merging: Airius can either summon Aftershock or Surbifeh to meld with his conscious, allowing the two of them to gain armor, weapons, and increased physical attributes. While under Order influence he is unable to command Chaos, and vice versa.
DESPERATION MOVES
Virtues Ruin: Calling down multiple strikes of high powered Chaos bolts, Airius doesn't use it often save when he is really mad.
Divine Retribution: Airius funnels Order energy into the very ground, causing it to rise up and reform itself into projectiles that then swarm on his opponent.
Rage of the Inferno: Airius uses Chaos Energy to literally set the air on fire. Note that he has no control over where the fire spreads, and is just as likely to be hurt by the move as his opponent
Mod Merge: Airius was given a glimpse of elightenment that allowed him to wholly merge Aftershock and Surbifeh with himself to become one entity, Reverend. Now wearing a unified armor of Order and Chaos, Reverend has access to most of the powers 'Shock/Rev and Rev/'feh along with certain Mod abilities.
Burning Modsmack: Reverend calls down the 'Hand of Mod' itself to smite his enemies. This attack borders on near martyrdom and is not ever used lightly. |

The thing that I think we really need to put in, though, more than the rest of that stuff, is personality. When it comes to taking over a character temporarily, it is -extremely- important to make sure the character is acting how the character -would- act, and the only way to be sure of that is to have an idea of their personality.
...and, of course, you know I'm in for ideas and spellchecking ^_-
I may not necessarily be able to participate in every storyline-- Shandriz can be awfully difficult to work with, but I'll create little NPCs to help the plot along 'n stuff. ^_^ |

I agree with you there Shan. Personality is a big part of everyone's characters, and it may see like something you want other people to figure out about you character, but when it come to the time where you do have to take a brief absense it would help everyone to know whether you char is supposed to be happy go lucky or a distant loner.
As far as a template is concerned, I like something sorta like what Tobs had made. The PO Profile I think is a little long winded for this kind of RP. I think something that generally explains you character with a brief background is quite enough, especially if we are going to participate in a new world.
On another note, it may be a good idea to set up the RP realm before setting up RP characters, for story purposes. (i.e. Where you're from.) I've got an for a realm, but it's kinda for newbs because it is simple. You can PM me for details if you want. |
