I don't see the problem with what he said either. And I agree. Ye gods, do you know how much I get picked on at school for liking Sailor Moon? Someone even had the ignorance to ask me "So you believe in Sailor Moon?"

.....since when is Sailor Moon a religion? Ugh.

What makes me even MORE sick is people who judge anime on the baiss of just one series. Take Pokemon for instance. You know how brightly colored it is, right?

Some ignorant person thought it was a consipircay to BLIND US, and used THAT riducilous theroy as the basis of his hate for all anime-to the point that her started a PENTION to try and GET RID OF ANIME. Course, that will never work....

All in all, people are stupid. Really stupid. *nod nod*

Truer words have never been spoken.

I don't think that anyone should be made fun of for something that they enjoy (well, for the most part anyway). And I especially don't think that anime fans have any right to make fun of OTHER anime fans. Look at it this way...it's like nerds and geeks making fun of other nerds and geeks. And seriously, if one anime fan makes fun of another, it's only because the asshole anime fan probably gets made fun of by non-anime fans, and feels the need to belitte someone else to make themselves feel better.

Since I'm not really an anime fan, if I see any anime fan make fun of another anime fan, I'll attack the asshole. But then again, I'm in a pretty bad mood right now, so my attitude will probably be better tomorrow.

I must say I know how he feels. As someone who has been a closet DBZ watcher I have experienced such things first hand. But I have been going to therapy and leaned that I should not be ashamed of things that I like, even if you do buy a box set for one fight. I think every faction of fandom has people who like to feel superior to the other “regular” fans. I have learned from my interactions with anime fans who have the mentality of, “If it is on Cartoon Network it is uncool.” My strategy it to agree with them if they bring up a good point, “Yes DBZ does take 74 episodes to get rdy for a fight and 3 episodes for the actual fight. Yah they do say some items over and over and over.” Sometime I will even provide examples of what they say, “Oh man have you ever seen the Babidi Saga when over 5 episodes all that the Supreme Kai says over and over is, “Are these guys crazy? They do not know what they are up against. How can they be this strong?” Usually one of two things happens, they laugh with me, or they claim a mental victory and slither off to feast on another unwitting otaku. The ones that laugh I end up talking to and eventually comes out that they like another of the forbidden series.

Dude, I like Sailor Moon <_<
For the Story >_>

I think my favorite level in Kingdom Hearts was the Winnie the Pooh level.
I don't think it really matters what other people think of your likes and dislikes. They are -your- preferences and you shouldn't worry about seeming uncool or whatever. Chances are the people who don't like you because of liking such and such aren't worth getting to know anyway.

its the same in anything though, if your a movie fan and u like mainstream movies instead of the "arty" films that dont get the public attention your looked down on, if your a gamer and your into EA's FIFA fanchise rather than Pro Evolution Soccer people call you a casual gamer and say you have no sense (to be fair the FIFA games do get very poor scores but thats besides the point) its a case of taking someone elses critiscms with a pinch of salt and getting on with what you personally enjoy

I think Kagome is one of the best anime characters around (see my siggy!), despite the fact that she is a main character in a mainstream anime that is found on Cartoon Network. I also like some really obscure characters in anime that many people have never heard of! One should never be ashamed of who/what they enjoy, but society certainly doesn't make it easy!

See, me, I've given up on people. I just don't like people, so I don't care about them or what they have to say anymore. I like individuals, but not people. Mr. Green

Hmm. I liked Pokemon for a bit - when there were only about one-hundred fifty-one of them to keep track of. I think the repetitiveness of some episodes is what eventually led me elsewhere. That, and I'm not particularly fond of Ash's voice actress, the more I listen to the role. (Actually, not so much for Brock, either. But Team Rocket and Misty are excellent.)

Anyway, I am of two minds about animation in the children's block - admittedly, I've seen none of Pokemon with the original voice cast... could be better, for all I know. What I usually find aggravating about animation in that block is that it's been trimmed or made "age-appropriate", sometimes taking out important bits and changing the characters. That's usually where the gripe about those shows comes from, I suspect. At the same time, exposure is a good thing, so some edits may be forgiveable.

(As someone who watched Armor Legend Samurai Troopers on Saturday morning, as well as a few other animations through he week and on Saturday, I'm in no position to make fun of anybody.)

Ok so maybe I was a little too hard on the kid. 15 is a hard age but I can only hope that he is able to get past this rough spot in his life to become a proud anime fan that has learned that it just doesn't matter what other people think because they are not you and only you can truly decide what you are going to watch. Deep!
