See I have a question for you all. Which would you prefer: to have yourself sit in traffic till your reach your destination, or to be using a hagstroms map to be zippin about in back roads to reach your location? The catch is that both would take the same amount of time.
So which is it for you?
Personally, I'd rather drive it because at least you feel like you're moving. Though if I'm feeling lazy, I can always sit in traffic and listen to NPR |

I'd rather drive, because I can't stand traffic jams. And people drive like idiots down here.
Speaking of bad traffic....the other day here in Atlanta, there was a huge crash a few days ago on I-285 involving an 18-wheeler and about 5 cars, which blocked all the lanes going one way and went up in flames.
And my history teacher has been stuck in traffic on 400 that just did not move. At all. Eventually people started getting out of their cars and walking around to see people, so she turned her car off, locked her doors, and started reading a book. |

I went to work one day down town where it took me 90 minutes to get from the toll booth on 400 to 85
That's only about 2 or 3 miles. |

Driving, all the way - that way I feel like I'm making progress. Plus, that way I'm not as foul-tempered when I reach my destination. I hate traffic slowdowns (rather funny because I was in one for basically all of yesterday when I was driving... and they kept happening for no reason at all) with a passion. |

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree that going back roads is better. It may take just as long, but at least you keep moving. What really get me upset is the constant stop-and-go, ad nauseum. |
