Do you think that it is racism on the part of the listener then, if a phrase taken to be racist which was not meant to be racisit? If it only takes one, the listener or the speaker, then I think you could argue that the listener has equal probablity of being the "racist" of the two parties. |

that is one of the things that I'm trying to show here, which seems to be the case in many cases. Some people get very defensive about their own backgrounds, that i think they become very defensive. I know there are some times that i can be like that, but aside from that, i think im pretty lax on racial things sent out at me. This fear of the listener snapping back at you though, leads to the eggshell thing you brought up earlier.
