Understandable - etiquette can be that way, just ask the people who have social etiquette rules - sometimes they run very counter to what common sense would dictate. And like many words that describe polite behavior, it seems to have taken on a negative context in today's society, as if following your the rules is somehow a negative thing. Which was probably the point of the original post, so full-circle, here we come. |
