R4 is one of my favourite racing games ever, I've not really enjoyed anything in the series since, although to be fair, not to the extent that I did R4.
Bleh, bring on the Magical Sound Shower and give me OutRun PS3! |

I sort of have to agree with Gaaz, Burnout Revenge, especially, is more about taking people out than it is the actual racing, this is one reason I'm not a fan, it has mroe in common with Twisted Metal than it does anything else in the Racing Genre.
I dot mind the odd blast of it while drunk on line with friends, but other than that, it sits waiting for some attention. Burnout 2: Points of Impact was the last true racing game in the Burnout series, and for that reason alone, it stands as one of my favourite racing games. |

Depends on which part you are playing. There are parts where you have to win the RACE or RACE against the clock.
Anyway... back to Ridge Racer...
Yeah I agree with GD to the point where they should rebuild it from the ground up. I got into the Ridge Racer series at Rage Racer. RR and RRR were not on my list. Not sure why.
Rage Racer, R4, Ridge Racer 5, and Ridge Racers are all in my collection, and I have played them all to death.
I love the fact that they put in nitro in the psp version and I hope they keep that around. |

I was first introduced with Burnout 3 so I can't claim a longstanding love affair with the game but B3 is better than Revenge for me. I love the action and the racing but I am one of the few who think a racing game should be at least 51-49 in favor of racing.
And this is NOT like Twisted metal. I love that series (Well 1, 2, and Black anyway. 3 & 4 sucked worse than a $5 whore), I wish they would put guns on with this speed. WHOO HOO!
