Bad Habbits

I draw or do homework while sitting at the comp...and so, I pull my book or my writing surface to my chest to awnser IMs, which gets pencil on my shirt....^^;; And thus is the story of why Kayla always or usually wears black now-a-days.

My worst habit has to be the amount of procrastination I do. I have been known to finish papers 5 minutes before they are due. This cannot possibly be good for my stress levels. The only odd thing is, I've noticed that if I ever turn in a paper I worked on in advance I usually get a lower grade than on a paper I wrote at the last minute. Go figure.

Also, even though I procrastinate horribly, I have rarely not finished an assignment or turned one in late. I just don't start until the absolute last second for getting it done.

Oh, and I just had to use this for absolutely no reason... Optimus Prime

Man Musashi, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have found that when I rush a paper, I usually do well on it. When I actually take the time and put a lot of extra thought into it, I usually get a lower grade. For example, I turned a paper in to my Old Testament professor a couple of weeks ago. I thought the paper was trash, but alas I got it back with a big A- written on it. Tomorrow, I have to turn in another paper, which I wrote last night. I absolutely love it, and I think I did a bang-up job on it. But alas, it will most likely be something under an A- because that's just my luck.

At any rate, I procrastinate a lot also, which is probably one of my worse habits (I have A LOT). For example, I wanted to start that aforementioned paper around 5:00 yesterday, and be done with it by 8:00. I didn't actually sit down and start working on it until about 7:15. Thankfully, I finished it by around 9:15.

And that's my story...

Procrastination, in my opinion, is probably everyone's problem. I know i did that all the time. As for what musashi said about the working at the last minute on a paper, i have to say, i usually do my papers the day before it is due, and i usually pull of something above a B+. I have this ability to do amazing work while under stress. I sort of work faster and start to work more efficiently. Sometimes, i wonder why i just dont do my homework when i get home, and wait to do it until i get into school teh next day. Also, a small example of how my last minute abilities work out: I decided that for 8thg grade, instead of reading many stories on whatever, i read the bible. I did that, except that the teacher wanted us to have five 1 page responses for every book that we did. Well, this turned into doing this on the bible about 4 or 5 times. I did them all the day before they were due, at times such as 8 or 9 o'clock at night, and low and behold: i got a perfect on every single response that i ever did. I feel reminded of that race in Ascendancy(if u ever played ascendancy), the camachies (or at least i think tahts how u spell it), who can research any skill within 1 day instead of 100+ when a certain period of time passes. The story said that this was due to their stress lvl.

And to tie into that, is probably my second habbit...my immense video game playing. I spend way too much time in front of the computer or the TV playing videogames, which for one, probably is not good for my eyes, and 2, it takes a lot of time away from me. The only thing i think i have developed from playing videogames is faster thinking, and insane hand-eye coordination.

Yeah...I think everyone suffers from the curse of proscrastination these days. It's just because we're forced to do so many things that we don't want to do. I seem to have that same ability that Tobs does. The closer I get to a deadline, and the more stress I get as a result, the faster and more efficiently I work. I think it might be my mind forcing itself to focus on the task at hand.

That could be the effect that happens, cause when the deadline closes in, my mind sort of focus' on the subject at hand, and seems to understand exactly what its doing...strange? I think so Very Happy

Its true. Most college students suffer from a complete case of procrastination. That's why when a student comes along that actually STUDIES and does work ahead of time they get major props. Because no one else does that. Heaven forbid....

I guess that makes me weird, ...because I don't really suffer from procrastination...just...bouts of "I really don't want to do this" but, while I'm thinking that, i'm working.
