Ok, I'm going to put one of my original characters through this.

Kaliane (I'm probably going to rename her though)

+1 Does the character have a name you really, really like?
+1 Does the character have a nickname or pseudonym?
+1 Is the character highly attractive? (She has to work at it.)
+1 Are one or more characters attracted to her?
+1 Is the character of above average intelligence?
+1 Does the character have an angsty childhood/past? (some angsty events)
+1 Did the character ever suffer physical/emotional abuse?
+2 Is the character unusually accomplished for her age/species?
+1 Does the character have a faithful pet/animal familiar?
-3 The character has ever fairly lost a duel/fight/competition against someone of equal or lesser ability, and the winner was not the character's rival.
+1 Does the character have an accent relative to her country of residence?
-2 Character has a significant personality flaw.
-1 These flaws persist until death/past end of story.
-2 These flaws get the character in serious trouble.
+2 Does the character have any skill in which she is among the best?
+2 Does the character have any particular area of study/information in which she is the most knowledgable/among the most knowledgable?
+1 Healing
+1 General magic/sorcery
+1 Ability to see auras
+1 Summoning
-3 The character's religious beliefs are radically different from mine for the entire story.
+3 Has the character ever been nursed back to health from serious injuries by a warm, kind, and loving person? (Yeah, by one of her cousins.)
+1 Is the character someone you would want to be friends with, assuming she would be receptive to friendship with you?
+4 Do you ever wish you could be like the character?

TOTAL= 16. A Non-Sue.

This was somewhat hard, since the story is all in my head and not written down yet. The storyline is also weird and goes in circles a few times (at this point.)

The way you describe them kind of reminds me of Munchkins. Haha, it's a game, if you've heard of it, but the game bases itself off of a common roleplaying term. Munchkins are the kids who appear at the conventions with characters who are inexplicably outstanding in all facets of their existance. Like greek heroes they brandish the most exquisite weaponry and are blessed with the skills of the gods.

Okay, okay, so he's a Sue. Probably a pretty bad one, if I had to take points that I left off. I still think he's reasonably playable, but I guess I just have to pare him down some to make him less of a Sue.

Some of those I realize work, others seem just very arbitrary.

Shammy-- yeah, that sounds about right.

SA-- not necessarily. Again, this test doesn't take everything into account. I have characters that are probably Sues, but only because they have certain qualities the rp -requires- they have.

I don't necessarily like the questions about what "you" like. Why would you RP a character or create a character for a story you didn't like? Stuff like that doesn't make sense to me.

Well, there should be some deductions for setting if anyone/everyone can have abilities like those the character describes, so he's probably closer to a borderline-Sue than a real one, but he's still pretty Sue-y.

*nods* and I mean, Drow isn't usually classified in the same category as elf, popularity and sparkly-factor wise, but they -are- elves, so I counted Shandriz as one nonetheless.

Nogrick-- as a challenge. I have a lot of characters I'd hate to meet in real life, and that I disagree with as far as their values, etc. It's actually a lot of fun for me to roleplay that sort of character, as it's a challenge and it helps me to see other possible POV's. <3

I don't know if I have any characters I actually hate right now, but I have characters that I would hate if I ever met them in real life. All my characters have a special place in my heart where I can't hate them, even if they are that sort.
