A couple updates.
Michael Bay has reveiled that of the lists of characters released, all but the really important (and obvious) ones are fake. Apparently, Hasbro doesn't want the names revealed untill the packaging for the movie toys is made. There are four that are definately known to be real. They are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Starscream. Also, Ratchet is a maybe.
"What that means is that the character in the movie named Devastator is not really Devastator."
Now for some big news!

That just a fan video. It's been around for awhile now.
On to some actual news now. ^_^
This guy does online reviews of movie scripts. He's apparently pretty reliable from what I hear. He talks about the first ten or so pages of the script. He said he didn't even want to read the rest because he doesn't want to ruin it for himself.
He also clarifies the fake name thing. Apparently it pretty much aplies to the Decepticons more than the Autobots. He says the bots refer to eachother by name a few times, while the cons (save for Megs and Screamer) don't really do so. There's also a rather odd change that I don't really understand. For some reason they've decided to rename the Matrix to the Energon Cube. It's not that big of a deal, just odd.
Acording to him, this movie's going to kick all kinds of ass!

Maybe they changed to the Cube in order not to confuse newcomers, I guess they think Energon Cube is a more accessible term than The Matrix. I agree though, whatever it is, odd. The first ten pages sound pretty awesome. It helps alleviate some doubts I had on the movie.
On another Transformers Related note:
I just picked up the Beast Machines box set and I have to say "Wow" that is how all DVD menus should be like. It blows my mind, or maybe I've just seen too many crappy menus. |
