I dont know much about sports, sports games, or other sports related activities.

I do know that EA makes a crap fat ton of cash from making sports games, that they sell consols, sell controllers, sell games yearly, and promote the industry to poeple that might have never been that into it. As long as selling EQ sports games sells systems and promotes other kinds of industry growth, then keep on keepin on.

Even if that means that we get the worst possible version of NFL football? Pffft, I still say screw EA and their soulless, licensed, BS games. Are some of them fun, sure, do any of them feel inspired? No. Madden for the Wii will be the first EA product that I've purchased new at retail since NFL 2K5 scared them so badly. And when I say EA product I'm not just saying EA Sports, but anything that uses Renderware, since anything that uses Renderware (whether it's produced/created/programmed EA or not) makes EA a profit. Screw that. I dont think they need my money to suck the life and creativity out of my favorite pasttime anymore. I will buy the Wii version, because they actually had to work on it. QB Vision? Please, dont try to tell me that is "innovation" it's garbage, and it limits the player, and simply adds a button press, thats all. Want to make your game harder/better speed up the D, upgrade the AI, just dont put it up my butt, and tell me how great it is.

Yeah, I guess you could say I'm bitter. lol

I'll agree with Dai and Gekko on these last two. Whatever I feel about EA personally, their results (products sold and their risidual effects) cannot be argued. Of course, it it weren't them it would be someone else. The same was said about Capcom and keeping/saving the arcade business once.

However, I feel Gekko too. I would say "Don't try to fool me with smoke and mirrors" but the fact is that the two points jibe. The reason EA is as large as they are is because they, obviously, give their returning customers what they want AND they keep "laying on that sweet sticky frosting that attracts all the kids". That's an in-house phrase me and my buds toss around. Basically they are the ones seling the emperor his new clothes. Now that they have no competition, which wouldn't piss you off if you held EA stock, it's a moot point. There's not a company alive that wouldn't want to have the Madden franchise and that includes Square, Nintendo, and even Pepsi. You think that Burger King's The King is in EA's Fight Night series by accident? I'm surprised they didn't have him in NFL Street. Oh wait, that'll be next year.

I too love innovation and new game/genre types but the reality of America is that whatever sells is good. As long as people buy the games, they'll keep giving them to us. They are building it and we are coming.

I guess I'm lucky in that I dont pay for EA titles, and usually get money or other games for them by trading them in once I've reviewed it, if I dont likeit anyway
