I'm Going Under The Knife This Friday...

Well as it ends up he didn't even do the knife. I was under the impression he would, since that's how I thought my dad explained it, but he basically ruled it down to Liquid Nitrogen or Beetle Juice. Let me explain the beetle juice, since I'm sure you people already understand Nitrogen.

Beetle Juice is a type of liquid which comes from (or IS, i missed that part when he was explaining it) the insects known as Spanish Fly. Spanish Fly is actually a beetle. The Spanish ate frogs when they invaded Central America which had eaten the beetles, and felt a slightly painful tingling when they urinated. Thus Spanish Fly became known as an aphrodisiac because it was known for the sensation created in the labido... but it isn't actually a good sensation.

Anywho, the Beetle Juice is applied to the wart, which is found by shaving off the calous from the foot to expose the wart which grows in instead of out. Tape is placed over the area to keep it clean. The application of the juice does not hurt, however, the process which follows is excruciating as I have learned. The skin blisters up in the area, and I'm talking a BIG blister. It grows for a while and then about a day later you lance it, draining it and ridding yourself of the wart in the process. In the meantime, you eventually take the tape off to allow air to hit the area and let it breath.

To sum it up, since about 3 30 or so today I have been under extreme pain. I cant let the spot on the heel of my foot touch absolutely anything otherwise the pain is unbearable, and when nothing is touching it the pain is still there but less intense. I'm afraid to take the tape off and shower as they suggested, believing the removal of the tape and the shower itself may both make me scream. Tomorrow I will lance it (sometime early afternoon, allow myself some downtime before my brother's party that night). I will update you all on levels of pain as they undergo considerable change.

So yes, if I may swear, it fucking hurts. :/

Thats a rather interesting manuever. I prefer the insta-pain nitrogen that lasts for a few then goes away after a short bit.

They didn't give you any pain killers at all though?

No. The actual procedure isn't painful, interestingly enough, and quite fast. All they did was shave down the calous skin, and apply the beetle juice and something else before it, a cleaning agent or something I would guess. After that they taped it up and I was on my way. The rest I do on my own over a 24 hour period. It starts to hurt as the blister appears... which occurs about an hour or so after the treatment.

And it's a big one too. Since this liquid is basically just blister potion and he rubbed it over a fairly large area.

Shammy, I had that done too and you're right...It hurts like a mother f*ing biotch!!! I had them on the ball of my foot and that makes it nearly impossible to walk! But just know that it does go away and the pain stops, eventually. But for now....don't do anything!
