I don't know if you've picked up PSU recently, but it does have a -lot- more missions and stuff now if that's what you meant by lack of options. <3 We've been a bit busy lately, but I know Shino's a huge PSU fan, and I've still got Lieve sitting about waiting for school to let up a bit. |

You dont need a guild to get things done in Wow especially now. Raid if you want, PVP if you dont. Most of the instances are freakin 5 man now anyways. You didnt even need a guild to get things done before BC. You just need to learn to be more resourceful. BC has just made Wow a lot more non-raider friendly. With the new Honor system, you could get epic pvp gear inside a month, which will put you on par with if not above some of the raiding guilds.
And how can you possibly say raiding is a pain? You've never done it.
And that last line, in the above quote "I need a game I can get on for a few hours, feel I've done something and get off". That statement is the opposite of pretty much every MMO out there, except Wow.
You know my vote. |

If I can't get enough people in a half hour to do a simple 5 man instance you can't convince me that I can do it for a endgame instance in =/<. That just wouldn't make sense. I mean if ya wanna look at it, they are all grind fests. Just what do you wanna grind on. PvP, Raids, WoW has one goal and that is to get the best armor and sword. And there is only a handful of Endgame instances. I would stick with Vanguard if I could run it. Simply because I can have a house and ship and thereby do something that I have always wanted to do in an MMO, be a tradesman. But alas it is not to be. oh well, I've got a lot of Pokemon to play. |

Maybe its because I started from the beginning on my server. I'm like Sciler. Most of my server was either guilded with me at one point or has grouped with me on one of my alts. So its not that difficult for me to get a group even when its not composed of Guildies.
But with VG, its going to take a hell of a lot longer to get anything done, and I gaurantee you wont be able to sit down for 3 hourse and get anything done. So you're pretty much fucked either way. |

Its kinda funny that back in the day of UO online, there were venues for people to do all kinda of stuff like have houses, run businesses, and what not. WoW has a substantially larger clientlle, but doesnt offer these pretty basic MMO desires.
Im with Graillick, but the MMO simply isnt outthere that is an online world. There are online games, onlien rpgs, but the idea where you can go out and have a myriad of options ahead of you that dont involve combat doesnt exsist.
If I was talented, well funded, and inspired enough, I would work to fill this void. A world that is beautiful, but changing and moldable. A cross between a life sim, a virtual chat room, and a classic 'mmo'. |

One can only hope Dai. But I'm with the both of you. I'd love to have a house or a ship. But I'm not willing to put forth a $1000 for an upgrade for my computer just so I can run the game on mediocre settings. Than you Sony for making a great game that no one can play. |

Well let's all hope it stays around long enough that maybe in the next few months after they get done running debug code there is still plenty to do. If not, I petition we write Nintendo and say "here is what we want in an online MMORPG" and see if it flies. Worse case scenario...we get a letter back from a Nintendo midboss saying thanks for the idea. Best case, Fil sends us free beta copies of a new game we put ideas out for.
Just a thought. |

See, it's my belief that we as players want our hands held too much. I made quite a few successful "non-combat" games that I'd play with the lower levels. I was a tailor/rogue, so I'd make like 14 slot bags as a 60 rogue, go to Durotaur, find a place to hide, and throw the game rules up in general, which were I'd stealth, throw up a few rules, and the first to find me and open a trade window would get the bag. It was a fun break from the "grind fest" and it got so popular that the next day I came back to Durotaur to find like 3 people (lowbies) playing the same game, giving out 6-slot bags. So I say make you're own fun. Think outside the box. People will respect you more. I mean, these are basically games with a great freedom. If you show others a great new way to interact with the game, Unless it's a server where all people care about is end-game crap, and in that case I'd suggest an RP server where people join it to RP, so their more apt to play along). So that's my 2 cents, and it could prolly be integrated into most MMOs.
