A friend of mine in Australia has already seen it in theatres (it's out everywhere but here it seems) and says it's completely awesome. I can't wait to see it. |

What was the first great film they made?
Shaun of the dead was funny but I dunno...With how much everyone said it was the greatest movie they had ever seen...EVER. I expected more when I saw it for the first time. While it was funny in parts I felt the Remake of Dawn of the Dead held more laughs for me.
This comes from the guy that Owns all Monty Python movies and episodes ever, I practically masturbate to Rowan Atkinson British Television shows, swaer allegiance to the crew of the Dwarf, and gained my love of cooking from my mom and Chef!
IE I love British comedies.

Last night I happened to catch an advance screening of Hot Fuzz and what's more is that Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright were there afterwards to do a Q&A. Talk about some of the nicest guys EVER! Very laid back, very funny. They spit stuff out like it's nobody's business! Ever so always on their toes and just genuinely funny guys. I was sitting in the front row off to the side and landed a couple of pics (that I will upload soon).
Anyhow, the movie pokes fun at bigtime, explosive cop action movies and does quite a great job. It's about officer Nicholas Angel who is a star "policeman officer" whose stats are so awesome that he is making the rest of the London police "service" (everything in quotes is referring to something in the movie) look like wankers so they ship him off to the quietest village to become a sergeant. Things are not as they appear in Sandford and he has a hard time getting the rest of the team there to buy his ideas that the recent "accidental deaths" are in fact connected murders.
I don't want to give to much away because it'll spoil the laughs.
The cinematography is EXCELLENT, the way they cut scenes (much like Shaun is sometimes abrupt which adds to the intensity of the film but in that largely humorous type of way. The writing is fantastic and the guys say they are working on another project now so this won't be the last of 'em. These guys are just all around amazing. Go see it, I guarantee you will have a good laugh. |

I LOVE Shawn of the Dead. Maybe your expectations were just too high Gaaz? Hell, the more I watch it, the more I laugh my ass off. Todd and I quote it almost daily. Piss head.
I didnt know anything about this movie, hadnt even heard of it, but I will DEFINITELY look for it now. When is it supposed to come out here? I havent even seen any previews or nothing. |

I compare Shaun of the Dead to Trix. You see all these commercials as a kid with how awesome Trix is and that it's so good you should hoard it from wildlife.
Then when you got Trix it was still an awesome cereal but really not worth all the fuss everyone made about it and all the schemes to keep it from rabbits were unwarrented. |
