Ace Combat 6 demo is up!

I can't be the only one waiting patiently for this game.

I've always been a strong supporter of this series, but the addition of online play via LIVE has sweetened the deal. The demo features one mission, but I can already tell AC6 is going to kick all sorts of ass. The visuals are amazing. I was really impressed by the new smoke effects from the missiles and the vapor trails coming off the wings.

There's no official date that I know of, the demo just says fall '07..

Yeah Autumn 07 for both US and EU, really enjoyed the demo.

Its funny, I'd been arguing with people for the past fortnight saying that Project Sylpheed plays like Ace Combat but no one would listen, now they're all agreeing with me and are considering giving PS a second chance Razz

Its AC........6 I'm gonna prolly pick it up, but not w/o the special controller.

Honestly... they NEEDED to bring this out on PS3 and allow the PS2 controller to work on it. Then buying the controller may have been worth it. But I can't see spending $100+ on a controller for 1 game.

I had the deluxe controller on the PS2 from AC5, and it was a cool novelty. Ultimately, I sold it and got the regular edition of the game. It takes up a lot less space, and I actually like playing Ace Combat with a dual shock. From my time with the demo of AC6, I would say the 360 controller will be just as good, if not better.

Regular edition for me as well.

I downloaded it cuz Gaaz was talking about how good AC5 was. Loved it! I hope they have a coop mode!

I downloaded it and i loved it as well. I would have liked to participate in a real dogfight though, shooting down bombers and copters is fun, but not as thrilling as a jet vrs jet scenario.

I'm kinda sad the game is 360 only.

Playstation is the only system ANY of the Ace/Air Combats have come out on and Namco jumped ship.

Granted I only have a 360 but it seems so wrong for some reason.

I will probably only get Live to play this game and kill you all.

I have honed my Flight Simulator skillz over the years to be ungodly.

I do shit others can only dream about. Like piloting an Su-27 through all of Air Combat including against friends flying F-22's.

SU-27 was the nifty jet that armor was so low it can take one missile and it explodes. Yep, I beat Ace/Air Combats in that jet.

Will get the standard edition as I very much doubt Atari (who'll be co publishing over here as NAMCO don't publish their own stuff oddly) will release the special controller. Plus I doubt I have the space for it.

Although I imagine it'd be great fun with the controller, especially having spent the past week playing Afterburner Climax in the arcades in Blackpool.
