I use my hand me downs from my mom. Old German wooden ornaments. Typically decorate with the red, green and gold color scheme. Very classic. Picked up an amazing new topper from Target (a gold multipointed star) that was the first topper me and hubby have together. SQUEE! |

I couldnt have anything up this year. We have discovered our kitty is a portable garbage disposal, so I try not to keep anything out that may become edible to her when we are sleeping -_- |

Heh, I wish Gelt (chocolate money) would go on clearance after Hannakuh! Unfortunately, good menorahs are pretty expensive anytime of the year since they are somewhat ubiquitous.
I have one Christmas Ornament, and I will need to get a tree next year to put it on. I would combine the idea of Hannakuh and Christmas, but the fire department wouldn't like me for that =P.
I don't actually celebrate Hannakuh anyway (it really is a minor Jewish holiday) other than eat deep fried potato cakes, and raisin bread. |

I grew up with the same sort of tree as Shan...lots of random, pretty ornaments...some old, some new. The family tree.
My mom tried the whole classy theme one year, but it didn't feel right and missed the old version and changed it back. Its been the same ever since.
I have an appreciation for both. Themed trees can really look amazing but the mixed up family tree feels like home. We didn't even get the chance to put a tree up this year but ours is pretty classy. I bought some new, different ornaments to add that should be nice.
With all the funky blue and white and snowy themed items I'll have a whole room next year decked out in its own theme. It'll be awesome!
But I'm going to have to stay away from Target...I'm already itching to go back to look for more Amarylls and Paper White bulbs...but I already got a bunch of them...I hate how you can't really garden in the winter. i miss my flowers.  |

I bought some candy canes from target to hang in my little tree.
For a topper I used a black leahter angel that my mom sent me from home. |
