So I got called up to be the announcer for an ice skating show, happening this weekend. And man was it a blast! 
I finally got to see what's really going on behind the scenes. The boss on the mic going "Stanby music, stanby follow, in 3... 2... 1... go music, go follow." The people in the back yelling "We ain't ready!!" and us trying to find ways to fill in. The music technician giving some ambience between the shows. The people telling jokes on the frequency.
"Are we ready?"
"No! We're waiting on one person! Three more minutes!"
"Crap! OK, send in the clown!"
Yes, we even had a clown. She managed to keep the crowd warm even though she did a whole lot of overtime. 
I now know what Frame One, Frame Two and Frame Three mean!
So all in all, it was a blast. They want me next year and they highly suggest I apply to a radio station. Woo! |

That's very exciting. I've always wondered about the announcer people behind the scenes.
You really should try radio if people like your voice and personality. Which I do think they do. |

Happened a bit on the first go because we kept being told stuff like "OK we're all ready in the back... OH WAIT NO we're still missing a person!" and by the time this happens I'm already through my speech and we're pretty much forced to wait for up to a minute while the crowd sits in the dark.
But on the second show, that didn't happen, so we got an ETA on the readiness of the guys backstage, and things fell into place so nicely that by the time I was done presenting (going very slowly so as to buy time,) everyone was on the ice, ready to go. |

I can tell from meeting you at the last AWA that you've definitly got the right personality to hold your own as an announcer/entertainment guy.
