Every day is Earth Day for me :D but that's not to undermine any good things that come out of earth day. However, I will agree that we should be more earth-conscious as a whole.

That's right! It's that one day of the year where we actually recognize all that Mother Earth has done for us! I am, of course, wearing my (brand new) t-shirt made from recycled coca-cola bottles (I have no idea how it's done, but it's really really cool) to celebrate!

Happy Earth Day, everyone!

What Shandriz is talking about is WalMart (evil corporation gone green, YAY!) created a new cute t-shirt that is made of recycled materials and actually the only thing on the shirt that is made of the recycled bottles is the logo, but every little bit helps!!

It's a publicity stunt. Wal-Mart is one of the many "fake green" organizations that is hopping on the bandwagon to cash out on the whole "green" thing.

Not that it makes a difference on the end result (there are a few more recycled products floating around, which is a good thing)--but you have to realise that the company is horribly wasteful and has done many harmful things to the environment in the past. Not to mention that the very idea of Wal-Mart is anti-green; huge concrete parking lots to make room for tons of SUVs and supporting suburban sprawl...taking up entire city blocks...cutting down forests and meadows and whatever gets in their way.

Anyway, my point is, selling a few recycled shirts isn't going to make Wal-Mart "green;" it's going to take a lot more than that.

However, I must also point out, Earth Day isn't just one day a year, it's every day! Remember the impact that you're making on Mother Earth. Conserve Water, Reduce your Carbon Footprint, Be Consious of your decisions, they all make a difference. I myself am FINALLY getting my bike back and I'll be biking to work! Very exciting!

Yay! Congrats Sperrit! <3 Have fun on your bike.

I'm at least pleased to see that around here, Wal-Mart is doing a pretty good job at not having any more of a negative environmental impact with their stores than they have already been doing. They've turned all the stores into "Super" stores without increasing their footprint.
