I guess I'm the only one that's sick of Squenix jacking us with nothing but remakes.

How about a sequel... I already have 2 versions of Chrono Trigger. I don't want to buy it again.

FFIII was fine... it never came out here.
FFIV... ok you're pushing it now.

Chrono Trigger... Sorry Squenix... you just lost me.

Sequels good... remakes good once in a while... nothing but remakes... bad!

Chrono Trigger returns to the DS. Sounds like I'm going to have to find money that I can spend again... the DS is looking too much like an excellent portable for me to resist getting it any more.

This system is chock damn full of great games. Its worth the investment and may I suggest Crosswor DS

And more to the point, I still have my original CT too! I also have the book, but no boxy.

Well... not to be a negative nancy on that one, but it's been at least -Seven- years since Chrono Trigger was released on a console. The PS1 port/update was released on '01 in the United States. That's actually one year longer than the time it took from SNES->PS1. The original was released in the United States in '95.

I am tired of lots of -ports-, but I think enough time has passed for a re-release of Chrono Trigger. If anything there are kids out there now who have never played these games before. Realize that while it may not seem like that much time has passed for -us-, there are scores of gamers growing up who may never had played or maybe even heard of Chrono Trigger who will now have a chance to experience this for the first time. Who knows, it might end up being some new gamer's first RPG y'know?

I haven't bought into any of the remakes so far save the PSX FFIV and Chrono Trigger which I lent to someone who then presumably lost. So I'm excited about the chance to play/own this game again.

Plus, Portable? Yes please.

I cant complain about remakes, I'm a portable junkie...I play my portables more than consoles now, because I can play them at work. Helps my lunch time FLY!

Sequels would be fantastic but I'll take portable remakes...at least I can enjoy the games I once did without having to worry that my SNES is going to give out or the game battery is dead Shocked

Shut up do you know how hard it is to track down a copy of any SNES era Squeenix stuff over here? near on impossible and we normally get fucked over with the re-releases too, all the Final Fantasy's re-released on PS1 and GBA were released in limited quantities over here and they only appeared right at the end of those platforms consumer lifes, when stores would only have a pre-owned section for them and that was small.

I've never played this, but not sure I'd be happy to shell out £30 for it to be honest, might have to see if its to my tastes by trying it on an emulator or something first, and even if I do get it, I'll be playing it on Chixie's pink DS Lite

I'm with you on this. They should make a sequel that allows you to unlock the Old Chrono Trigger game...At max it was 2 MB big. It can easily fit on the 2 GB SD card (Basically what a DS game is) with another game.

As for "Kids today don't get to play it." Screw em. Who cares if kids today can't play Chrono Trigger? Sure it's an awesome game that everyone should play but hell kids today can't watch half the 80's cartoons I watched as a kid...They have their own stuff now.

Life is linear...You move forward remembering the past. If you stop moving forward to dwell in the past you fail at life.

You can't just port something over and over again to make money...It's retarded that Square uses this as a business model. "Hey guys what we got planned for this year? Another Final Fantasy? Hell no, lets Bring out Secret of Mana for every system and update the graphics and like put an extra character and awkward romance scenes. SWEET! Sounds like #1 to me!"

Lookit Konami...Metal Gear Solid 3 Collectors came with Metal gear 1 and 2. Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles came with SotN and Rondo of Blood. Hell even Metroid Zero Mission or Fusion or whatever let you unlock the first Metroid game.

That's what I want...New games with the ability to play the old games.

I never got to see the moon landing live should they remake that? Dig up JFK and re-enact the Cuban Missile crisis?

I agree with you guys too, like I said earlier, it's dissapointing that the extent of new content is a dungeon. Basically this has been squeenix admitting that they can't make games like they used to. A new Chrono Trigger that tied the events from 1 and 2 together would be much welcomed, and yeah adding the old games to it would make sense.

LoL you mean Radical Dreamers the sequel to CT?

Everything is a rehash of a rehash of a rehash, hardly anything is new and a lot of people don't like the new.

As far as the FF IV DS port, they ramped up the difficulty to stupid, at least on the JDM copy I tried it was. I died on the Myst Dragon and I've beat the game countless times on the SNES. :/

And while on the off-topic of remakes, does the art work for the Dragon Quest IV - VI remind anyone else of Dragon Ball?

The fact that the Dragon Quest manga series was created by Akira Toriyama never dawned on you? Razz
