Pretty much, though I'm sure there were plenty of people who were giving him the benefit of a doubt. Guess not now, eh?

Well speaking as a former New Yorker who was in the World Trade the same time the day before as the attacks and who's son's BDay is 9/11 I say we should have razed Bin Laden's entire land to the ground. The people who are "for peace" are the ones who have no connection other than being Americans. Ask anyone who lost a son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, or father in the attacks and I don't think you'll get much peace talk from them. I could just have easily been a memory had they decided to attack one day earlier. Matter of fact the only reason I was NOT there on the 11th was that my friend going with me to New Jersey (to get last minute BDay presents) couldn't make it and that delayed me. Otherwise I probably would be dead right now.
I don't equate Saddam with Bin Laden tho. I'm actually kinda against going after Saddam in that the people there have statues of him all over, pictures and posters of him all over, even feature him in F'ing music videos...so how much do they hate him? It's kinda like "it's our dirty little town and we like it that way". I don't feel we should impose our will on everyone just because we can. It's funny that we're built on democracy but go after anyone that does something we don't like. "You can do whatever you want to...as long as I say so".
As for Afghanistan...it shouldn't be war, it should be all out eradication. Sorry to be so blunt. |

I don't agree with this war at all but in my oppinion, if we are in a war we should do our best to support our troops in the field as much as possible. We should do this even if we don't agree with the war because the truth is we are at war and if we help our soldiers keep a high moral level than they will do their job better and this whole thing will be over a lot sooner than if we all just sit around and argure about a choice that has already been made. |

I AM NOT INBETWEEN! I am with war, all the protesters in the world couldn't change that. Well that's unless they brainwashed me and turned me into a protester... |

I have nothing against hunting down a criminal like Bin Laden by using police, FBI, Interpol, whatever else. But Bin Laden does not to my knowledge have any ties whatsoever to Saddam, and that's one thing that supposedly our current administration seems to believe in and say is what lead us to war. |

A guy in my guy group's birthday is on Sept. 11. Very interesting.
Anyway, I don't think that they're saying that Osama and Sadam are in bed together (figure of speach), but I do think that they're using the fury at Osama and redirecting it towards Sadam as a way of getting American's to accept this war, because they did switch gears quite quickly, which is very puzzling.

I could be totally off base here but the reason Bush is so gung ho to get Saddam is because he is a "tangible threat". The search for Bin Laden turned up nil and never really justified the espense of that "war" so now when he can quickly lay out some evidence about Saddam (of course he had the weapons), he jumps on it. I guarantee that had he caught osama in a quick sweep then this war would never have started. They'd be at the table having coffee and discussions.
Like Rev, I see no possible connection between Saddam and Bin Laden other than they're both non-Americans...which has always been just cause for attack, by the way.
War, huh hah, good God ya'll.
What is it good for?
Getting re-elected...if you win. YEAH!!! |

Heh....
Bush's reason for going to war that he stated in front of the assembled congress:
"That man tried to kill my daddy."
I never get used to the fact that this guy has his finger on the button.

Wow, I hope my son reaches a position of power someday. I can see it now...
"That man beat my daddy in Streetfighter!"
Boooom!
Of course that'd be a long list unless we kept it to SFA on the Saturn. LOL |
