Avatar size problem ...

Ok here's the lil problem:

1. I make an avatar, it's 100 x 150, and it's 4.4k big ... therefor it doesn't exceed any of the avatar limits

2. I upload the avatar and add it in my profile, it shows perfect in my profile

3. I check in threads ... it's 68 x 100 ... and it has the same file size

so I'm like ... surrounded with Question

around my head right now ... someone help ... I need a hug <_<

It's because Shino has restricted the size of uploaded avatars to save space.

I'm guessing that was a board hack that was fubaring up the registration process. But that is definitely Shinos area.

OK so even though the standard format for talking about image sized everywhere in the world is Width x Height, this board wants you to input them Height x Width.

Not knowing that, I had it set to 100x150. Width x Height right? Well since they want Height x Width, it shrunk your height down to 100 then make the width smaller to fit the ratio and not distort the image.

Anyway, I fixed it.

Anyone that has a distorted avi... all you have to do is go to your profile and reinput the link to the offsite avi.

So is it possible to reword the text on our profile pages ("Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 100 pixels, the height no greater than 150 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB.") so it'll warn us (assuming we read, anyway) or is that just not neccesary? I did reload my url and it resized my avi correctly so I guess it's all done right but I'm just asking.
