Perhaps it is as you say, Silver Adept, yet I cannot picture myself ever doing such a thing. I can't imagine myself ever getting that angry, angry enough to kill or almost kill someone. Perhaps I'm just wired differently.
In fact, there is also a theory that there are three basic types of people in the world. Each is determined by how they react when over-stressed to the point of non-coherent reaction, the situation you described in your story. They are Laugh, Cry and Rage. Obviously you'd be Rage. I think that I'm a Laugh, because whenever I get over-stressed I tend to laugh a lot, which is actually kind of creepy in and of itself. Oh well.

Well, whether or not it's manly to cry is besides the point. It's good to cry, really. It's a wonderful expression of emotion, the most subtle and most powerful.
And it's a heck of a lot more normal than laughing when stressed.

I once used to get angry whenever someone said the wrong thing to me. I'd go berserk and hate with extreme passion. But now I could not see myself getting mad at anything. Im not even sure if its physically possible for me to get mad or angry at anything anymore.

I would have to say that i have become a rather stoic person.

I'd say that that shows a growing of maturity. Personally, I've found that as one goes through life you understand more and more that a lot of things aren't worth getting that worked up over, that reacting calmly and analysing the situation is always the better policy.

I agree. I mean, as hildren we got into fist fights over who was first in line (like we even cared what the line was for). As you grow you mature and take things in stride.

As for me, my line is way the hell out there - I mean I hardly ever get angry. When my step brother deleted my FFII save with 90 hors on accedent, didnt get mad. Four years later he did the same with my FFIII save, didn't get mad. The Dog ate my couch. Slightly annoyed, but not mad. A tree fell on my car, not mad. In fact, I had a Sperrit moment and laughed ^_^.

*sniff* I miss my old game saves... Crying or Very sad

I think, then, I have all three... Sometmies I laugh, often I cry, and then there are those moments of fire.

So I'm probably Rage. I believe it. But it will take a bit to put me in that state of mind. Probably as I get older, it will take more to do so.

Although, it is probably that same rage that would fuel some weird superhuman effort or something.

Well, yeah. You can't really have supernatural effort when you're laughing or crying, can you? I suppose that Rage has the advantage over Laugh and Cry when it comes to pure reaction to your situation. Maybe you'll go overboard, but you will resolve the situation quickly.
Personally, though, I like finding tragedy funny! At least when it's happening to me.

There are some things that are funny. But for me, they tend to be funny after the fact and with a little distance, that's all.

very nice story here lews. i love the writing and the overall story and its topic. i found it very easily to relate to it as i basically have 2 normal modes of being (happy and sad) and one very rare more, pissed off beyond all belief. i only had that happen a few times, but i know the feeling of fighting off. nice writing.
