I'm pretty sure he's a guy, or was a guy at least. All you have to do is look at him in his old videos and you'll see theres no way that dude is a lady.

Sure he has an 'odd' voice, and maybe an odd face but I'd put my money on him being a guy. Look at his buiildd..

Whether he's gay or not is a different matter..

Or you could be asking if he's had a sex change.. I um, doubt it.

Look i'm not bashing your taste in music. I never said that. I personally don't like AFI's recent music. I think their older stuff is alot better but that's just my opinion just as your opinion is that AFI is good. Don't think that anything I say Is an attack on your taste in music.

Emmy, I haven't heard anything about him actually. But I can assure you he is definitely man. It might just be some rumor flying around about him.

I'm a big fan of AFI also, but I haven't heard anything about Davey being gay, having a sex change, etc. I highly doubt he had a sex change, and I definitely believe he's a guy. It's true that in the older stuff, there's no question. Recently he grew his hair out and decided to start wearing makeup, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything...just look at guys like Marilyn Manson. His voice being the way it is shouldn't mean anything either though. He can sound feminine sometimes, but then again there were a lot of old-time singers in the 50s that you could swear were women, like Frankie Valley, but were clearly men. It was just a style of singing. Davey, however, can scream like nobody's business, as you can hear in Death of Seasons.

And as far as being gay, maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Sperrit is right that that shouldn't matter, as long as you like the music. But again, just because he dresses the way he does, with the makeup and all, doesn't necceasily mean he's gay. Again, look at guys like Marilyn Manson, or Jonathan Davis from KoRn (who is known to wear leather skirts).

People make up rumors and such about celebrities all the time. Whether this is true or not though, ionno, but I would have to guess no.
