Okokokokokokokok, sooooooooooooo I wanna put some style in my dorm room. What are some good ideas? So far all I can think of is getting a plant or two. Any other ideas? Bear in mind, I'm not looking to Martha it up, just a few things. Maybe some candles or something.

Check with your housing office - they'll tell you what you can't have for style in your room. In a lot of places, that means no open flames or open heating elements. |

What you want to put into your room all depends on your own personal style. The info I gathered when we went to your room at Shreveport was that you enjoyed not finding your bed...lol. But really, you can't just start grabbing things to add if you're not sure what ending look you're looking for. I like my rooms to have their own theme, but i rarely stick to that theme so I make it work. Hit garage sales, those are the best places to find cool stuff for next to nothing. |

If allowed, you could find a tapestry or a nice piece of fabric to hang on your wall. Some dorms don't allow this because it can be a fire hazard.
Last year, to spruce up my dorm, I went to Wal-Mart and got a cheap bead curtain. There's a tack strip near the ceiling on my wall, so I stuck it up there with thumbtacks and proceeded to loop the bead strings over more tacks. I really like how it looked.
If you have a bulletin board, cover it with fabric or colored paper. Looks nicer than plain old cork. Get posters, wallscrolls, whatever and hang it up!
Also, carpets are a must. So much better than a cold linoleum floor. |
