Some sick bastard broke into a one roomed amish school house and massacred a bunch of little girls and then killed himself.
What a sick lunatic! I'm glad he killed himself, because the justice system wouldn't have given him the punishment he deserved anyway, which would be to torture him every day of his life until he died....But that's just my opinion.
It's not safe any more, any where! |

That's really sad. Evidently the guy had been holding a grudge (against girls, I guess?) for twentysomething years and finally snapped.
One of my suitemates is from Amish Country, though she isn't Amish. I think she's a bit upset about this. |

The world is no less safe now than it ever was. The punishments for crimes however are less severe than they were, or in my opinion, should be. In times past individuals such as this would be made an example of. He would have suffered until his certain death. Others like minded would see what happens to people who commit atrocities and would think twice about acting upon their urges. These days a person like that will be deemed "insane" and therefore not accountable for his/her actions.
The whole thing saddens me. |

Apparently, the reports are saying that this had nothing to do with the amish, and more to do with the convenience of the location. I guess it could have been any where.

I know that it didn't have anything to do with the Amish in particular, but that just further proves my point though. Why would you snap and take out your agression on the Amish, of all people? Because it's easy? If you want to commit some heinous act and be a big, bad psychotic mass murderer, grow a pair and pick on people who would actually fight back. |
