So I was looking this up today and discovered that it's labeled as the Halo 3 Edition, and yet it doesn't come with Halo 3...
Does anyone else see anything weird about this? |

Not really...  It's an Xbox that has a Halo 3 Faceplate, controller and theme. The game does not come with the system. Is just a way of marketing the game for idiot hardcore gamers that want everything Halo.
So they buy that, and they buy the Legendary Edition for like $200. That's $700? |

It's a waste of money.
It's just a Premium 360 in a green shell instead of the normal shell and it comes with a Play and charge kit and some gamer pics and a special theme.
Basically it's $370 worth of stuff for $400 all b/c it's "Halo 3" themed.
You get essentially squat for that $30 extra.
Please don't waste your money. |

I wasn't planning to. I just found it interesting that it was the "Halo 3 Edition" but didn't actually come with Halo 3.
If I WERE to get a 360, what would you guys reccommend? |

Get an Elite, 120gb HD, HDMI out + 1080p goodness from the HDMI. And in my case HDMI --> DVI --> Projector!! = 1080p goodness as our projector doesn't have HDMI in. |

Yeah, get an Elite.
While I do not like the Halo 3 Edition of the 360, I will say, as I've said before, its no suprise they're charging more than they do for the normal premium as they all have done when releasing "Limited Editions" in the past. Both the green and crystal XBox's had a price increase, the Silver PS2's have always fetched more over here too. |

I would disagree with Riva and BM on this one. I would get the Premium.
The Premiums now include an HDMI output (Just make sure you get one manufactured summer '07 or later), so it's mainly a matter of whether or not you want to spend $100 for another 100G of HD space.
I've had the 20G HD since Dec and I haven't even filled half of it yet.
But yeah... my order of purchase would be...
Premium (HDMI version only)
Elite
Core
Halo
In all honesty. If I were you, I would wait to see if Sony actually does bring a $400 PS3 to the market b/c that has the potential to be a better deal then any of the 360 SKUs IMO.
Then we could play Eye of Judgment.  hehehe |
