Actually, in theory if there is a strong resistance between the battery and whatever it is powering then it could generate heat; which if in the presence of something with a low melting point, could burn.
Say a piece of pocket lint on the battery connector, or a minor short inside the ipod itself. I doubt it would actually fully combust since your ass would burn badly long before your pants would reach combustion temp. Now if he couldn't feel his ass burning for that long then the burning ipod is the least of his worries... |
