Well, it seems we weren't fully informed about that.
The Emotion Engine wasn't the only piece of PS2 hardware in the PS3. The Graphics synthesizer was in there as well.
When the 80G came out... the EE was taken out but the GS was still there. That's what made it so easy for them to do the software emulation.
Now... the GS is gone too... to reduce cost. |
