As if the news of a brand new Bionic Commando game wasn't enough to tantalize nostalgic gamers, Capcom announced today via Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu they have a remake of the original NES game in the works, as well, due out as a downloadable title for both Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network.
Bionic Commando: Master-D Fukkatsu Keikaku (The Plot to Revive Master-D) will retain the original game's taste, while adding new features like two-player co-op, new hidden areas, and ties to the next-gen title.
The remake will be developed by GRIN and should hit both consoles sometime in the Spring. |

You know... I'm gonna be honest. When I first played this game I wasn't very much into it because I was too young to know what I was doing, unlike you two! 
But after seeing that trailer, I am very psyched about this thing!
Should be good to finally know what the hell I was doing in the 1st place. |

Some 83% of voters chose the $10 price point (as opposed to 17% in favor of a $15 tag), and producer Ben Judd explained that while the community choice will be upheld, it could end up being a losing proposition for the publisher.
"Since the title will have to do quite well at that price point to break even (no, I'm not going to give you a specific number), I guess we have to roll the dice and see where they land," said Judd. "Besides, I'd rather fail having created the best game I could, even if the end result doesn't justify 2D games like this in the future. So $10 it is for the XBLA and PSN versions."
A price point for the PC version of Bionic Commando: Rearmed has yet to be confirmed, due to the possibility of including additional downloadable content with the version. However, the minimum and recommended specs for the PC version were revealed today, which are:

Intel Pentium 4 2 Ghz/AMD XP 2200+
512 MB RAM

Keyboard, Mouse.

Capcom also reconfirmed last week's news that the Xbox 360 version will not feature lower-resolution textures than the PlayStation 3 iteration, stating that "each version will look as beautiful and contain exactly the same textures as the next." All three versions of the game are currently scheduled to launch in May. |
