I just got an XBox 360, yes, I know I'm pathetic. I was just wondering if there are any good role playing games that don't require you to be online to play them?

Please help, my wife can only take so much Halo!

I actually don't own a single RPG for the 360, but I do own and love: Dead Rising, Rock Band, and Beautiful Katamari (my gf got me it for xmas cuz she rocks.)

There's also Oblivion, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

Oblivion is too slow going for me. Blue Dragon is too kiddie. And Lost Odyssey... I'm playing that now... I don't have many thoughts just yet, but you should hear some on the next InDis.

MassEffect is really good from what Ive seen of my boyfriend playing it.

Lost Odyssey is amazing...its grows on you as you play. Though it is kind of typical with a "FF style" game, even though this is Mystwalker.

Be prepared for level grinding at times, or tough boss fights if you arent into the grind. I've been watching my boyfriend play it, and he was almost tempted to return it after the first and second boss battles, but hes gotten through them after a few tries, and he says the story is fantastic, and he says I need to play it when hes done because its right up my alley. What I've seen of it myself, its absolutely gorgeous, and i think he's right, I would probably love it, but I'm still playing WoW and Crisis Core atm lol!

All great suggestions! I'm trying out the Oblivion right now. You're right Shino, it is a bit slow, but still facinating. I've heard of Eternal Sonata and I think we'll give that one a try next. It's sad that it has taken this long for me to catch up with the rest of the world. My Super Nintendo is enjoying the break though!

Ha Ha, its funny you mention the Super Nintendo, on another forum I'm on a guy has started a retro appreciation society and every month its a different gaming system, you don't have to have the system to join in thanks to the strength of roms and emulators, and a list of games is decided upon for people to try out that aren't the most well-known titles.

This month its the SNES so mines all hooked up to the TV and I have ZSnes and have been enjoying Rock N Roll Racing and UniRally (UniRacers over there) so far and plan on playing something with a little more depth tomorrow Very Happy

Oblivion is a great game. So much to do and so much to see. I logged 200+ hours on the game for a reason. Mass Effect is also an amazing game. Very well done and probably the best RPG for the 360 right now. I bought Eternal Sonata a while ago, but haven't touched much of it...although the demo was pretty good from what I played of it.

Haven't played Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey either. But Blue Dragon hasn't had the best reviews from what I hear.
