The action I hate most that many *Celebrities* perform is spousal abuse....

Correct me if I'm wrong (do and you die a firey death filled with not but the most anguishing of pains) but since when was it ok to beat the 5h17 out of your spouse? Right now most of you are saying "Noooooo, I'd never condone wife/husband beating!" and yet many of you do. Simply by catering to these bastards whims! (This is a wide statement and isn't directed only to PO...If I was a memebr to any other forum I'd post there too) All these people are raving at how good Emenem is..."His music is so good, his movie is so good, he defines our generation!" Shut the F**K up you god-damned bastards! That guy beat the hell out of his wife and thought it was ok to take his daughter away from her! Excuse me if I feel that teaching your children to beat the hell out of loved ones is wrong.

If that wasn't enough he had the ODASCITY to come out with a song that featured a wannabe him beating the hell out of his GF and then at the end he says he doesn't condone him beating the hell out of her! Even though the CD he previously recorded featured about 2 or three songs at least about him slicing his wifes throat and stuffing her in a trunk.

Don't anyone tell me that "You can still like his music but hate him." Who the hell are you fooling?! If I bought his CD then MY hard earned non-wife beating money goes to his bloody hands! If I see his movie then HIS name is mentioned on TV one more time. That's like saying "I like that Osama Bin Laden finally destroyed a piece of America after we destroyed so much of his country. But I don't agree with him wearing a white turbin after Labor Day." If you think that not liking a person but still funding their organization is ok then welcome to Communism comrade. But if you can think for yourself and put an end to propagating Spousal Abuse then welcome to Democracy. The world will only get worse if you ignore it.

Yeah, sex on TV I have a soap-box for that one too. I think I'm gonna use Cartoon Networks blockage of anime for this one...*ahem*

Ok, I can understand that blocking the language spoken in Anime is ok as long as it doesn't steal from the show (BTW, in AZ the radio is allowed to say 5h17 10 times an hour and f**k 3 times an hour) but the sexual situations and nudity are base if anything and yet it's completely defunked. (That made no sense, go with it) Think about it:
"Hey Ayeka, lets go take a bath."
"Ok Ryoko let me just put on my bathing suit (eh?). Oh, and we can drink some hot tea while we're in there."
30-minutes later
"Heeeyyy Ayeka *hic* you shhuure caen pack away thea hooot teea."
Ok, now the lil' kid thinks all Japanese people bathe in their bathing suits and get drunk on tea. (Ok, so it's not a big deal...yet!) Meanwhile on Cowboy Bebop (I love this show mind you) the shows lacks almost all feeling due to the fact that there is seldom any cursing and yet there's explosions, death, and gunplay everywhere. Nudity isn't really prominent in the series but still.
The worst thing is that some of the best series in the Anime world are passed over due to content. Can anyone tell me why Ranma ain't made the Adult Swim line-up? I'm not advocating that shows like Yugi-Oh (also one of me favs) be replaced with La Blue Girl, but for the love of God if yer gonna use an anime USE IT don't re-write the story!

Hmmm, didn't make much sense towards the anti-violence or the sexual promotion thing...but censorship sux!

Oh my god I couldn't agree more. This coming from a person who grew up on Tex Avery and Looney Tunes.

So when Cartoon Network ran June Bugs (the entire Bugs Bunny cartoon collection) a while back I was most upset to see that 4 excellent cartoons were left out. Why? They weren't "P.(olitically) C.(orrect)".

And everytime I watch the Tom and Jerry where Jerry runs past the bord bath and in turn Tom runs into it and the bowl part of the bath turns on Tom's head they cut out the part where it turns him into a little Chinese cat. Why? Because it isn't "PC".

Coming from a girl who was ridiculed in school for being born in Germany and accused of being a Nazi, I know what offense is like. But come the frig on people. Every last thing on Earth we can find a way to take offense to it.

Do you see any nationalities not poking fun at other nationalities due to being PC? Hmmm? And I hate to say it but it's such a double ended blade and incredibly idiotic that one race may make a remark to their same race and when another race uses it then it's not acceptable?

Let's remain educated here folks.

Were parents to actually spend time with their kids, we would not have to have censorship of the media because parents could control what their children are viewing/listening to since the parents are with the children. Now I'm not saying then that it's the fault of parents that censorship exists, okay maybe I am some, but society in the US also needs to lighten up.

Did you know that you can't show an exposed nipple on network TV? But you can if that nipple has been cut off of the body. Which is more disturbing to people, seeing something natural like an exposed human form, or an evicerated and desecrated body?

Really, American culture seems to think that nudity is taboo, while violence isn't. Me, I blame it on the puritans...

Point 1: Agree with most statements made above, especially the one's about supporting people who do bad things and/or write music and things like that about it and condone it in those works. This is the one and only reason that I don't like Rap as a genre, because it can be very cool when it's not all like: "I be pimp'n the hoes, yo, and I kill lots o' biznatches" and stuff like that. It's just not cool.
Also I agree with the whole Anime thing. Either show the anime as it's meant to be or don't. If you tamper with small sections to make it sensor friendly you effect the whole feel of the show. Maybe not by a lot, but it does effect it. Besides, if there are things in there that aren't 'appropriate' then maybe you should be rethinking whether or not you should show it at all. And this is applies to American cartoons as well, the old ones, anyway, like Doot was talking about. It's like: "You're going to cut a peice of cultural influence and history just because it doesn't fit the cultural parameters of the current society? Hello! We all know that our culture is an evolving thing and anything from a past era is going to reflect the accepted parameters of the time, and it's important to know what those were and how they were expressed, even if it's offensive TODAY. What happened to perserving history and culture? Should we stop teaching children the history of the US because there was slavery, war, and racism? I don't think that anyone would say that we should, and thusly we shouldn't try to erase or hide these things either.
Anyway, that's my take on all this. And as far as things that make me upset I'd have to say that the one thing that really urks me is when they tell you they are going to do one thing and then do another. Politicians being a great example. Stupid teachers being another. Grrr... Stupid teachers.

I can't help but agree with everyones comments. Doot will tell you that I rant about Tom & Jerry edits. The did that with... from what I can tell... 4 or 5 episodes where they cut out the jokes b/c they were considered racial slurs.

And don't get me started on rap. I could go on all day. For one... all rap is now about either doing drugs, killing people, being in a gang, and bullshit like that. I listened to rap in the 80s... back when it was people showing their tallent with their music. I don't even consider the shit they have now music. You know what happened... Hip Hop started being use in rock music and now the best form of rock and the best form of hip hop are when the two are combined. Not this "gangsta" bullshit they are coming up with now. Did you ever notice that rap videos follow a formula. There are things that must be in them now a days. There has to be "hoes" in their skimpy outfits. There has to be a shot with the "hommies." There has to be a shot of the big house or 15 cars they bought from their drug deals. They have to show off their "bling bling" or flash some cash. It seems like every Rap video is like this. Makes me sick to know that people actually buy this stuff.

These comments are made towards the "gangsta crap" rap that's out there. Which is most of it now.. unfortunatly. Pissed

For a while I had given up on current music trends. I'd say that still holds as the major types or music I listen to are Rythm and Blues (not R&B minds you, thats the cultural bastardization of the style) and Rock; as in Rolling Stones, CCR, and Aerosmith.

As for politicians, we need to vote stupid people like them out of office. Sadly, most of America isn't ready to get rid of such people/ they can't recognize just how dangerous they are. Think about how the GOP and Christian Coalition now control our government...
