Dang Nintendo revolutionizing the way I play games...So maybe they ARE gonna put a toaster in it! Woot!

It's amazing how Nintendo drops "Revolution" just months after PS3 and X-Squared (Or whatever Microsoft is calling it) were announced.

Yeah but it wasn't announced till after everyone else announced theirs... Razz

Even the PS3 was made before the PS2 was realeased. Sony just didn't think the size was that impressive since it was as big as two mini-tower computers.

Well you know how Nintendo is with secrets. They like to surprise you.
You know the new zelda is actually almost nearing the end of production?
We didn't even hear about it till E3.

Of course. Nintendo is all about the secrets. Always have been always will be. Unfortunately the other systems can say, "Hey, we have 6000 games coming out in the next 2 years and yer bound to like one of them."

Meanwhile Nintendo says, "We've got nothing. *rings hands*"

Well actually Playstation isn't dominating. In terms of Sales Gamecube is leading the pack. The only reason why Sony is ahead is because of the huge time advantage it had on the other consoles. Especially when Dreamcast pulled out, Playstation gobbled up the player base. Nintendo and MS's biggest mistake was releasing their respective systems so late.

I agree and I disagree.

The Gamecube is leading in momentum, that is true. Their numbers are rising the fastest.

PS2 has well over 70M units shipped. That is unheard of. Especially since MS and Nin are currently not even 20M combined.

The DC came out first. It was like 6 months to a year earlier. And When people would come in and we were showing it off at the Video game store I worked at at the time, 75% of the people said "I want to see what Sony will do."

I have a feeling it may be a repeat of that.

The GC and the XB are better hardware than the PS2, but the PS2 continues to stay ahead of the game. Sony doens't want to be the first one out. They are currently running the show and have no reason to jump on it. Every time Sega has tried to put out a new system first, something came out and killed it.

Master vs NES - NES won probably b/c of popularity.
Genesis vs SNES - This was probably tied
Saturn vs Playstation - Saturn beat it out by like a year, but the PS killed it
Dreamcast vs PS2 = again, Dreamcast beat it out, but PS2 killed it.

I love Sega, but they played their cards wrong.

I have a feeling that the first one out, is going to end up like Sega in some ways. So I don't think it will be Sony. Sony will put their release shorty (1-3 months) after the release of the first next Gen system.

Either way.. we will see.

Its a little early to be making judgements jsut now, Im actaully excited to see what they are cooking up. They are right about hardware though, just pushing graphics is pretty, but Im not impressed by it, I expect for hardware to improve natrually, Im jaded to it. Im very interetest in what Nintendo thinks will revolutionize the gamign world.
