I just hope these predictions are wrong and all 3 systems do not hit on within a week of each other. Talk about a serious hit on the wallet >_<. Though, I guess if that happened I'd only buy Nintendo's console. Microsoft hasn't impressed me too much yet w/ the current XBox, and Sony, while their system has some excellent titles, is notorious for defects in brand new hardware. Maybe give Sony a while to get all the bugs out  . |

 that's the funniest thing I have heard in a while. That will never happen. Especially since Xbox is at the bottom world wide. And it's still below PS2 in the US, and it's probably going to stay there.
Here's an interesting fact. Did you know that the number of the PS2 in homes world wide is more than 3.5 times that of Xbox and Gamecube combined?

You are right about Sony's initial quality Musashi, but the also fix those buggy systems for free. I'm sending mine back soon.
Counted up my games yesterday...
PS2 - 48 games
GC - 11 games
XB - 4 games (3 discs, this includes the double Sega disc that came with it)
Not to mention there are 3 PS2 games off the top of my head that are coming out very soon that I want, a few that I still have to get.
Sorry Nintendo and Microcrap, but Sony is kicking your arse |

That's pretty much the same news I've been reading everywhere else. It seems to me that Sony will preview their new system at E3 the same time Microsoft does. Now as far as when it will be available for retail is the big questions. I have a feeling that Microsoft will get it's new xbox out on shelves before the PS3. |

I have no XB now, have never wanted one, and won't get one until they become more than the HaloBox. If Nin launches with a (new) Pokemon game then I'd grab them before Sony. Either way I'll wait til the prices drop to normal (after the first $50-100 drop basically). I'll eventually get Sony's system because in the end, (and someone send this memo to Mr. Gates) it's all about the games, baby.

much as I love my GC I have to agree...PS2 is just fantastc...though both systems are great....Fortunately for me I don't have the luxury of time and money to buy all three...perosnally I dislike the X Box...except for that sweet mech game with the 300 dollar controller  |

Actually the article I read is that MS has not decided when to show their new system yet.
As far as it being released before the PS3, that's what Sony wants. Think about it. In the last two generation changes, the first to release ended up failing. The second to release thrived!
Saturn - failed
PSone - thrived
N64 - brought up the rear
Dreamcast - failed
PS2 - thrived
Xbox & GC - brought up the rear (Xbox is further in the rear than GC though... to me anyway)
Sony is running the show like they have been since the ps1. When the Dreamcast came out, everyone was saying "I want to see what Sony will do." At least that's what was happening in the game store I worked at when they came out.
If MS or NIN brings their new system out first, I have no doubt it will be the same. Especially if it's NIN. MS may sell well in America, but most other contries don't jump on it at all.

I was having the same thoughts as well. I realize that it is not always a positive in the console wars to be the first one to release a new system. And everyone knows that Sony has the biggest foot hold in the industry. But the Xbox is a great system, it's just Microsoft needs to get off it's ass and start pressuring more developers to make a broader and graphically better range of games. If that happens, or if it ever has a chance of happening, we all might see Sony having to keep up with Microsoft.
Anyway, I know how most people out there are anti-Microsoft, and I have my own personal share of that everytime I use my home PC. But is that really a good reason to hate the box? |
