Alright, now for another first. Sperrit is going to attempt the amazing... TRIPLE WHINNING ACTION!
I know most of these things start out like this, but I am not have a good day in the SLIGHTEST extent of the imagination.
For those who do not know, I am a student, and currently unemployed. However, I do get a nice scholarship from the school so that I can still attend. However, attached to that scholarship are class requirements. Since it is a music scholarship they are (obviously) music classes, and therefore do not really help me on my way to total academic fullfillment (i.e. an A.A. transfer degree). So, in order to keep my scholarship and still be able to get out of this school in a timely fashion I need to take an exorbant 21 credits of school. Now, normally I wouldn't have much of a problem with this: I can do work. That's not the issue. The issue here is that, for better or for worse 21 credits is a lot, which means that my tuition goes above that of what my scholarship covers, which means that I end up paying out a good amount of cash just for school. So far I'm okay. School costs money, I know, so I can except this and hope to make up the difference somehow.
Then, today, I went to go get my books.
The bookstore was currently out of two of the books that I needed and the total still came up to a whopping $200. My French books alone were over $100 dollars.
Perhaps you are saying: Sperrit, that's too bad, but not unexpected. a total of $300 dollar (eventually) for just books is pricey, but not unusual. I would say in response to that that I am unemployed and, seriously, almost completely out of money what with expenses for AWA and many other required spendings. Not only that, but my choir director wants us to buy new suits for this year, adding another $150 bill to the stack.
Perhaps this doesn't seem like much to you, but I'm sweating under the collar quite profusely.

Hell even if it's at McDonalds or something... it will be cash flow.

I worked 50 hours a week when I was in college.

Try to find something where you can break out your stuff and study when you aren't busy. Video Game store is perfect... that's what I did!

Awww! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this, sweetheart. >_< It -is- a lot of money, and I know a lot of how you feel-- if I don't keep my grades up I lose financial aid, and my family simply can't afford to put me through college without it.

So there's all sorts of pressure. But I know you're strong, and you can work your way through this.

Ouch, lord knows Money is one of the biggest problems a person can face. I need to side with Shne-Master Shino on this one though, I doubt a person who achieved a scholarship to any school in the nation is unfit for a job of some sort. Just so long as you rake in some cash, you can tell the employers of your school schedule.

dude, im siding with everyone...get a job, and start earning some money. If anything, get a job that isnt very busy so you can study in the downtimes, and on breaks.

Also, i have a suggestion for you for your books: Buy them from a bookstore like barnes and nobles. you will have to order them, no doubt, and they take about a week to get in, but it certainly does pay off. And im not saying this just because i work there...i got my books from there, and without my employee discount, i managed to acquire the books for around 100 bucks cheaper. So give it a whirl! most times, the new books at a B+N are cheaper than used books are your school.

Understandable, Speritt. I don't like the necessity of taking the 21 credit-hours, but from what I've been told, music classes are all one or two credits and eat large amounts of time.

If you can squeeze a job in there that will give you lots of time to study, go for it.
