Ok folks, here's the deal. Recently I've had this hankering to go out and buy myself an Xbox. Tobs feels pretty much the same way. I don't know what I should do. This all pretty much started when Tobs bought a copy of Halo for the computer, and we were talking about how much cooler it is on Xbox..and then Halo 2 came out and I was like, "Gotta get an xbox".
But I don't know. It's not THAT expensive(especially since Tobs and I would most likely split the cost), but then again...do I really need one? I already own a PS2 and Tobs has a GameCube (and we live in the same house)...so is Xbox really necceasry? Part of me worries that it's just another thing to spend money on that I don't actually need, especially since I only want it for a few games. But then again...there's a lot of games out there for it with a lot of cool games probably in the works. I can also buy a bundle that comes with the system, an extra controller, a bunch of other crap, and Knights of the Old Republic (another game I wanted) for like $200, which is super. I also worry about my PS2, since I think it's on its way to death soon, and since PS3 will most likely come out soon, which I don't necessarily want to invest in. But then AGAIN ON THE OTHER HAND, Microsoft is an evil corporation and giving my money to them is most likely converting over to the Dark Side. So I dunno...
What does everyone else think?

If you feel safe enough to spend the money on it, then buy it. But if you feel there are better and more important things to buy then don't. It's really all up to what you can really afford. But I have to admit my first gut action told me to tell you to buy it. And don't get me wrong here, I do love my Xbox. But to buy it only for one or even three games isn't that good of a choice. But KOTOR is a really great game, but it's the only great RPG that I've played on the Xbox in just about forever. Yeah, Fable is a great game, but well we all know what happened to it/so far. |

Well if it helps your decision, KOTOR is also on PC. Go to any game store and I am sure you could find it. |

the problem with buying KOTOR for our comp is the fact that i dont think my comp can handle it. I just barely have the skill on my comp to run Halo, but even still, its got some jumpiness and isn't the greatest.
As far as for me getting the Xbox, the reason why ive been turned on to this, and the reason why i somehow got Ming involved was from playing Halo and Halo 2. I found it to be very nice, and i enjoyed it lots. What else, ive played Halo, and mech assault, and found both of them to be great. So i dunno. Im kind of torn and want one. That, and these games are meant to run on the Xbox...not my comp. |

Go for it, they have the game library to back up the buy. |

Have to agree with reaper. Xbox might not have the best games (this is an opion, just in case) but it has enough to solidify an investment in it. That's why I have a PS2 and an Xbox. |

Personally I dont like XBOX. Anything you can get on yor XBOX you can get on your computer. Spend the 120 on a new video card, youll probably be much happier in the long run. You already have two gaming systems, so chances are the games you want to play cross systems or are availble on PC. Any games that are 'XBOX exclusive' probably will get a rerelease later on another system because, guess what, XBOX has a slim market, only 15% of the market share or something like that. I think youd be happier spending the money for an XBOX, another controller, all the cables to get it hooked up, a couple of games, etc, instead on a new video card and maybe some RAM to back it up. |

First off... If you computer runs Halo it shouldnt have a problem running KOTOR. But if I am wrong it would be better in the long run to spend 100 bucks on a new vid card and an extra stick of Ram. That should be all it would take to make up the difference.
The only game library Halobox has is 1. Halo and 2. Sports games of every genre. So if you are a sports gaming fan then it would be worth the money. If you are an RPG, action RPG, or Platform fan then you will be disappointed. If you want to play and FPS... spend 30 bucks on counter strike source or Half-Life 2 for the PC, both are a lot better games IMHO.
I will admit that Xbox has the best hardware of any system on the market, but it doesnt have the games to back it up. A 150 system isnt worth buying if you arent going to play more than 1 or 2 games on it. |

I think I posted somewhere that an X-box is actually a spiritual prison for dead babies.
That explains why it whines whenever you start it up...Or maybe that's the fan. |
