First go here.
Ok, there's nothing new about a store deciding to change it's customer base, but Gadzooks has decided to do it the worst way possible. They have a big banner in the store that reads "Proud to be Sexist. Gadzooks is going all girl." This was first brought up on another board I go too, and has been confermed by about three different people.

The thing that's pissing people off (including me) is that if it was focusing on men instead of women, there would be large groups of women boycoting the stores.

Dontcha just love double standards?

I don't agree with their campaigning but I swear guys don't ever have to worry about another guy setting their progress back a couple hundred years. I'm proud to be a woman and an independent one at that and am fairly tired of the lazy women out there who are fine living the 1950's stereotype because they don't want to lift a finger to do anything for themselves. I'm no "womyn" nor am I feminist, but I am pro-female. I was raised to take pride in myself and never have rely solely on someone for living purposes. And this was from my dad.

So Gadzooks can suck it, thanks for lowering the glass ceiling and being just as stupid as many chauvinistic male pigs out there. What's the Spring line-up going to be? Aprons and rope to tie a woman to the stove? May as well not carry shoes any longer since she's bound to be barefoot and pregnant.

My question is. When did Gadzooks NOT only market to females and homos?

I dunno... a lot of their shirts in there for men were straight up (pardon the pun) hetero, Spliff. I don't think one style of clothing would classify as "homos". That's kind of a broad generalization.

(plus I'd like to state for general information that we do have a few members here that are homosexual, so I don't know how much offense will be taken)

I'd like to state that Gadzooks are bastards because I bought my all time favorite shirt from there. (Silky lounge shirt with Vegeta all over it) and it is like the ONLY place that carried it.

Yes, I know the freak store that is Hot Topic sold them but they sold them for puny wuss men. Medium and smaller as I recall. I myself have REALLY broad shoulders so no matter how thin I will ever become (Damn diet) I will ALWAYS need a 2XL shirt. Anything smaller and my shoulders will literally bust the seems when I move my arms.

Anywho...This store has gone onto my hitlist. (Granted there's only ONE in all of Arizona and it's in the rich persons mall) So if and when I return to GA I'll haveta fire-bomb or something....hehehe

Womyn is the term the uberfeminists use for the female half of the human species. I always thought it was kinda weird since you still pronouce it in pretty much the same way (woman) and it seems to be more alienating and petty than to accomplish any kind of female actualization.
But that's just my opinion.

Gadzooks.....

I'm not sure that we have one in portland. Surprised!!

I have been to Hot Topic, though. Luckily, I'm not terribly large, so I can usually get away with wearing size 's'.

and on a side note, the whole "feminist psychological speak" thing was always pretty annoying to me. I had to read this book with commentary by some feminists as part of an art history class.

Luckily, everyone doesn't talk like that. ^_^;
