Bush leads the republican party.
So it's republican, since Bush got elected.

It's a republic because in a true democracy everyone would vote on everything, which we don't do. Instead we elect others to do our voting for us, to represent us. (Represent Reppublic). Therefore we are a Republic, not a Democracy, though there are many people out there that call us a Representational Democracy, but that's just cause they want to keep the word Democracy in there.

The definition of a republic is, according to my world geography teacher, a country or nation that votes for its own leaders. So, any republic is a democracy; the party of our president has little to do with that. |

Not true. A true Democracy HAS no elected leaders. Everyone votes on everything that the country does or does not do. They don't NEED leaders because the will of the majority decides everything.
