I know this is a semi-serious topic and all
but I can't help but smile whenever I read "Banana Apocalypse".
Anywho, back on topic...
While I think Bioengineering is a good idea in theory,
I just hope they don't cause some freakish side effects.
I more like the idea of cross breeding the Bananas. |

I know, I giggled the first time I heard what they called it. X)!
That's good and all in theory, but then, certain countries (such as England) have outlawed genetically engineered fruits, so if they had to engineer the banana to save it, then the British will never see bananas ever again ;_;

Effectively, yes. Although humans are diverse, so we will probably eventually overcome AIDs, while bananas are all the same (clones, in a manner of speaking) so what effects one banana effects all, and they can't evolve their way out of it. |

Pretty much, yep. If not in the near future, eventually, in the sometime near future. Although there is currently a fungus affecting banana crops in the east, from what I understand. |
