Yeay!!! Screw the fucking weapons permit!
now all this topic needs is for tobs to explode. .... any minute now. >> <<

It's a hard, thankless job most of the time.
Police officers are only human, I think it's unfair that so many of us stubbornly refuse to see this. We expect them to be supermen, but they're not. They put their lives on the line every day, and often don't recieve the praise they deserve. All it takes is one bad cop and all of a sudden they're all nazis, they're all fascist pigs. Alot of them are your neighbors, they're just hard working men and women doing their jobs. I don't think it's fair for you to generalize like that.

Or maybe I'm just reading it wrong, what do you mean by them not paying attention to their surroundings?

Also, what weapon permit are you talking about specifically, and what context does that have here?

/tangent

I do agree with Shino,
Ever since 9/11 it seems we've been placed with more restrictions, and at what point does it become excessive and no longer effective?
I was simply sarcasticly saying that they don't seem to pay attention to the news, or what goes on around them, nothing sirious, there for having weapon permits would be pointless, for us because if their going to increase pulic security, then at times like these we shouldn't need permits to use weapons, due to the fact of terrist. That's all nothing to sirious, sorry if I offened anyone.

You didn't, no worries,
I was just rambling ^^.

Although I disagree with you,
Weapon permits are -always- important.
If you are underage you -should not- be allowed to carry a firearm period.
If we removed the permit system it'd only cause more problems due to the easier accessibility of weapons. Alot of immature/irresponsible kids would be able to walk in and cause all sorts of mayhem. That's not to say all kids -are- immature/foolish but I would say that making a firearm easier to obtain would do much more damage than it could ever do help. I forget what the statistics are but there is a large percentage of accidental shootings within the home that lead to death. People get swept up in their emotions and do stupid things. Putting a gun in their hands isn't going to help any.

Although I think we're getting a bit sidetracked here so if you'd like to continue a discussion on firearms/weapons perhaps we ought to continue on another thread or via PM/IM. ^^

No way then you'd be sworded down for having a different opinion. I've checked up on history like that. You'd be surprised how the people would be oppressed or even killed if they thought or spoke out loud against the governments decisions or views.

In all honesty despite how crummy things are with this. It was a lot worse in other countries now and in the past.

Ah, yeah ... suuuuure, making everyone pay 2 or 3 $ will LIKELY severly ruin terrorist plans, I mean, it's not like they could afford it, seriously, it's not like they could buy PLANE TICKETS TO HIJACK PLANES AND CRASH INTO BUILDINGS either, so they will DEFINITLY not have the money to ride the ''o my no longer fareless, wat r we gonna do Allah'' public transportation. I bet they really feel screwed now (*note the sarcasm here and there)

It's just a ''disguised'' tax to pay for the expences of the war out there, or just to make money out of the people for no valuable reasons but for, if I may call it that way, a pitifull excuse.

I think weapons are too easy to get a hold of as it is....I hate to bring this up, but if a kid wants a gun, they are going to get one. How do you think that string of school shootings happened? One of them happened in my old town. The kids took their grandfather's guns and brought them to school, killing 14 people and wounding several others. In that situation, the kids didn't even have to try very hard to get a hold of the weapons, they just took what their grandad already had. If the parent has a gun, it just makes it that much easier for the kid.

You are correct. But if we keep saying things like "oh, well, this is crummy, but it's a lot better than it was before" then we are going to degrade into the mindset that no matter how bad things get in our society, it's not as bad as in the past, or in other places, and before you know it, things do get as bad as in the past, or in other places. I think we should be constantly working towards the greater good, and keep high goals for our society. It's the only way things are actually going to get better.

LMAO

Yeah, come on, I seriously doubt that removing a fareless zone would increase the likelihood of terrorism x_x
