Dammit! Stop agreeing with me Shadow...Next you'll be supporting the fair tax.

Yeah I tried to watch Smallville and all it does is make Superman look like a whiney b!tch who at the end of the episode sucks it up and does what needs doing.

Basically it's an hour long episode of Sailor Moon. Granted I love the Moon of the Sailors. Maybe if Smallville was an Anime.

Everyone of Smallville's episodes always seems to be about "Who wants to kill/capture/whatever Lana Lang. I liked who they got to play Lois Lane in the show, but I thought Clark didn't Lois until he went to Metropolias (sp?). I can't wait to see Kevin Spacey was Lex, I LOVE Spacey as a bad guy, he can play the evil characters like no other.

I watched the first season pretty regularly and I liked it until about the episode after he meets Christover Reeves. I guess it's too much of a detachment from what I knew of the comic lore. Lois Lane is in it now? Lame :p

I sawed Superman Returns...I loved it.

Granted it suffered from a forced filling of 2 hours 45 minutes. If it was 2 hours and 30 minutes I would have been all kinds of happy.

Well worth every persons time.

Agreed, a few minutes could have been chopped out, but all in all it was a good experience.

Bryan Singer deserves to be knighted "Sir Only-Person-Able-To-Make-A-Good-Superhero-Flick"

Wait... did Sam Raimi do the first two Spiderman movies...?

Yeah, I guess he's alright too.

He's doing the third too I think.

He also directed the Spiderman game I think. I could be wrong.

Also, Christopher Nolan did a great job of translating Frank Millers version of Batman.

A Different Take (Light Spoiler Alert)-
As a closet Superman fan I came in with high hopes of a film with more substance. I felt overall it was a subpar film glossed in eye-candy coating. Nothing about the movie surprised me or was unpredictable. Even one of the supposed shockers of the film I had guessed at LAST YEAR after reading a synopsis of the film. There were some good moments and imagery and I have to thank Bryan Singer for that but damnit give me more substance, if there's anything Superman lacks it's just that! I'm tired of the Deus Ex Machina so closely associated with Superman stories.

I expected something with some meat and all I got was a story not even on the level of the animated series (which I enjoyed for the most part). Now that's not to say I hated the film, I'm more dissapointed it wasn't more than just "Superman saves a bunch of people and there's some special effects". Ok, Superman's been gone five years... how about a little more than "I needed to see what was out there". Come on. I loved the Clark Kent moments and I wish there were more of that. Although seeing the hell that the Superman franchise has had to endure, I should be expected to cut this movie some slack but I'm not.

Sure it could have been alot worse, but it could have been alot better too. I would have liked more of the movie to stand alone than hang on the crutch of the previous films. It had the potential to be something above and beyond. Superman's been gone for five years, and Lois Lane's moved on with her life. That's a great start for a story but I thought the execution was far too predictable, and didn't deliver the intended punch. I think I'm MORE dissapointed in this than Xmen 3. At least I knew THAT was going to suck, this should have been better.

The Beginning was GREAT I thought but the latter 1/3 of the film didn't really work the way it should have. Moments that should have been deep, weren't and felt rather shallow. The Casting was great, Jimmy Olson was Jimmy Olson, Lois Lane was Lois Lane, and I loved the Brando, but not even he could save me from lackluster cinema. Say what you want, but overall my opinion is Superman Returns=Lacking. It could have been so much more but instead fell victim to the category of Summer Popcorn Flick.
