I hate the Holiday season

I hate the holidays, when it comes to my job. It is a royal nightmare having to deal with my boss with all the parties we have to throw together. This year every Thur, Fri,Sat, and Sunday are booked with generally 2 parties with more 30-100 people coming to each. THis means full set up of the restaurant, then the party, then clean up, then setting up again, then the other party, then clean up again. In othe words, I'll be on my feet probably for 10-12 hours straight, running, and hoping/worrying everything is just right, so my boss doesn't throw a royal hissy fit. Also, I have to make sure that the customers are happy with the setup and if they want anything change, like moving tables around with about 4 or 5 chairs, then making sure they have enough seats for every person coming. .

I love christmas, despite the fact that i used to wirk fast food durring the season (nothing like customers grumpy from waking up to go shopping or grumpy after a day of it). I just hate they way companies have forced it to muscel in on all the other holidays. I remember when thanksgiving was it's own holiday.... now, thanks to wall-mart and other such companies, thanksgiving is merely christmas part 1.

I have a niece who frowns at her gifts, a family where we don't know what to buy so we offer each other chocolates which we end up sharing to each other the next morning, shitloads of dishes to place and wash because it's always my mom who ends up with the job of receiving the entire family on Christmas and New Year's, a heart attack after seeing Christmas decorations everywhere on November 1, a complete blindness now that everyone and their mother use nothing but white Christmas lights, a self-inflicted deafness after hearing the marketing garbage everywhere on TV, 9$ in Canadian Tire money, no intention of letting the noisy and shitty kids play on my beloved Dreamcast (much less my PC), an abhorration of huge long-lasting noisy Christmas parties, and the feeling that, once again, I will only be able to seek comfort in my bed, watching War of The Tuques and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

When I move to my own place, I won't even bother doing a Christmas tree. Or celebrate it for that matter.

Gah stupid Holiday Fest how I hate thee!

first off our store is busy as hell yet we do no volume, and tonight didnt help any. I was running around kinda with no direction all night doing this that and the other, to top things off our janitor was a no call no show. so we had another guy do it... whos slow as all fucking shit and about as smart as a retarded 6 yearold if not stupider. we ended up finnishing or well getting to a point where the manager said fuck it lets go home at 115a and i even had to do part of his job fucking lame ass slowpoke graaaahhhh!

I'd contribute, but, honestly, I don't have anything to rant about. Christmas is what it is, and for me at least, it's just something you do. People come in and they act like assholes, and getting angry about it accomplishes about as much as chewing bubblegum. You just grin, bear it, and go home and laugh. Yes, laugh. Because, seriously. Come on. Have you ever seen anything more ridiculous? It's like watching a dog who has gone blind, and whenever someone new comes over, he gets all excited and starts running into walls. I mean, I know it's sad, but, man, it's a riot!
