Those should be some good games to watch this coming weekend. As I see it, the game to watch should be Pittsburgh at Cincinnati. There is a lot of history between those teams, what with being divisional rivals.
For the player with the most to prove in the first round of the Playoffs, that has to be Eli Manning. In his second season as a pro quaterback, he's playing in a home game against a hungry and strong team.
Surefire win for next week has to be the Pats beating Jacksonville. Were the Pats on the road I'd say it might go to the Jags. But I can't see New England losing in December and at home either!! |

I'm with you.
I'm thinking the winners of the wild card games are...
AFC
Pittsburgh
New England
NFC
Tampa Bay
New York
I don't know if NY will win... but if Eli can keep his head on straight and throw to his own guys instead of Carolina's, I think they can do it.
And for God's sake... give Tiki the ball... |

-Excel | Personally, I like their chances. First, their home game will probably be in Soldier Field, where they gave up a total of 69 points this year. Their Defense will probably be as vamped as ever, and none of the Offenses they will be facing should put up an unbeatable struggle.
Rex Grossman and Thomas Jones on the Offensive Side will get it done. I know Rex isn't great, but he doesn't have to be. To quote a sportswriter from Yahoo, "He only has to be good enough." And I think he is. He electrifies the offense, and he can complete enough passes, and through the ball far enough, to let Jones run for yardage.
Here's what it is. The Bears offense averaged 20 points per game this season, roughly. That means in order to beat them, an opponent has to score more than 20 points on them. I don't see that happening. |

Hmm...a World Series and a Super Bowl to follow it....man, if that would happen, Chicago would be really celebrating it up. |

Actually Chicago only scores like 16 points a game. There are reason behind me not liking their chances.
They played 7 teams with winning records this year.
They are 3-4 against them
They played 5 of the teams in the playoff.
They are 2-3 against them. One of the teams they beat is already out of the playoffs. The other one is Carolina. I don't expect them to stay in for long.
Is it possible they will win. Of coures it is. But I don't like their chances. Especially if they have to go to Seattle for the NFC Championship game.
Did I mention that only one of those wins I mentioned was on the road. And it was the team that is already eliminated... Tampa Bay!
But of course... we already know I'm not good at predicting games... I thought Tampa Bay was going to make short work of Washington... so much for that.
Playoffs just started and I'm already 1-1 |

Well my first part came true, let us see how I hold up for today. Though I think I meant to write January. |

Well... I went 2-2...
Of who I wanted to win... I wanted to go 2-2.
Unfortunatly the wrong teams won and the wrong teams lost.
Good thing for the Steelers that they knocked out 2 of the most important people on the Cinci Offense in the first series. I really wanted Cinci to win that game!
So now in the divisional week... we have...
Washington @ Seattle
Seattle should have little problem taking down the 'Skins
Carolina @ Chicago
Chicago has already made short work of the Panthers once this season. However this is a different Carolina team. This is going to be a great game, but I think Carolina has a lot of momentum after their route of the Giants and they will come out on top in an upset.
New England @ Denver
I won't make a prediction on this one. Denver is my favorite team, so I don't think I can. On paper, Denver is the better team. However, there is no one better in the post season than Brady and crew. As much as I'm sick of the Pats, they are just too good to count out. I hope Denver Wins. This is going to be the best game of the week. To win this game, Denver will need to keep Brady off balance with some major pass rush. One of Denver's best DBs is coming back, the need to force Brady to throw some INTs.
Pittsburg @ Indy
I don't think Pittsburg can intimidate the Colts enough to win this one. |

Hmmmm.....I'm going to have to disagree with Shino when it comes to the Washington Redskins. This team has fire and excitement that they are in the post-season. That counts for a lot. Add in a strong showing against the Bucs, forcing two turnovers and converting them into touchdowns in the first quarter and a solid showing by Clinton Portis, I really think Washington could suprise Seattle and the rest of the league too.
That your team is headed by a hall of fame coach who has some serious postseason experience is never a bad thing either. It feels weird to say, but my money is on the Redskins for this week.
I agree on Steelers doing little to take out the Colts. Just because several teams were able to shut down the Indiannapolis offense doesn't mean that it is easy, or all that likely to happen.
Chicago v. Carolina could go either way. My money will go on the Bears, but that's more because they have the home field advantage, and we all know that warm weather teams have a hard time heading up into the snow belt.
Denver v. New England? It is the safe bet to go with Brady and Co. in any playoff game. I loathe to do it, but that's where my money is. |

Im taking Seatle over the Skins cause no other coach calls it like Holmgrom on a winning season (check the packers 2 trips to the soup bowl in the 90's)
I think i like chicago over carolina. I think they got a pretty decent D and i wanna see the dance
Denver over NE. Why.. because the Brady Bunch needs to loose and they are in Denver Which is High altitude and should be nice and cold for the fun of it.
As much as I would love to say the Colts are going all the way. I think Pittsburg has the potential to do it. They have long been the underdog in a lot of situations against teams they shouldn't have beat and have pulled it off. I never dout the Steelers and think this will prove to be a great game! |
