But true.
I'm so sorry, KOS, that you had to deal with all of that. It seems like you must have some sort of support system (I would assume, given that you're more worried about your Boy being an asshole than about finding a way to take care of yourself and/or your baby) and I'm glad if you do. If you don't, see if you can't find one. If nothing else, there are always clinics and support groups you can find in just about any town to help you hook up with other relatively young expecting moms. |

At the end of the day, look after that kid, me it feel as special as you can humanly do, make sure it doesnt become an arsehole like its father, teach it morals (after all theres women out there that treat men bad too, men who want to be involved in their kids from the start but the woman decides no, and the way the law currently works in theUK, not sure about over there in the States, the mother still comes first)
Me and Chixie had alot of problems, still do, and when she fell pregnant I became scared, well we both did, but we agreed that we'd come through it together and wouldnt even consider an abortion, and yeah when Rachael-Leesa was born, Chixie had a major spout of post natal depression and we even almost lost her due to this, but we fought, well I fought for the pair of us all the while trying to get Chixie better, because family comes first.
I'm not making myself out to be perfect or anything like that, but my point is, men get such bad press when it comes to becoming fathers because of people like this dickwad, but the fathers who care get ignored and dont get anything. |

That is not even cool. Those are the type of males that I could find myself easily beating the mess out of, leaving them eating out of a straw with no remorse.
In someways from the above statement I am glad I do not know the guy. And if he gives you any $$$$. You tell him I said he needs to watch where he sleeps.
A guy that age getting you into that kind of situation because he can't get any from people his own age deserves to be gang raped in a cell by bubba himself.
On the other note. Take care of that kid. It will eventually have to know what kindof dad it truely had as Ive gone through the beating end of this stick (being the kid in the situation). And it will take a lot of time and a lot of deciding for theirselves on the situation their parents are in.

Thank you everyone your words mean a lot to me and I will take all of your advices to heart. I got a protective order on the guy and he cant come near me till march 3rd where I hope to make it perminant. I will keep you all posted on what happens with the baby just right now.. lots and lots of sleep is needed since im so close yet it feels so far away from the due date.
On another note I know that there are good guys out that and high fives to all the dads out there that actually try even though they were scared as hell. I mean even if you cant stay with someone because things dont work out between the two of you personaility wise well atleast you can try your damndest to still do things for the kid. :: sighs::
and hoth.. thanks but the guy is a bit to arrogent to thing that anything is gonna happen to him :: smiles viciously and tail flicks:: but hell get it soon that hes not invincible |

You actually can't do that...If you take 100% custody the father doesn't have to pay Child Support and unless he has physically abused the child he gets visitation rights.
Other than that what everyone said was pretty dead on accurate how I feel. I can't for the life of me think how someone can do something as extreme as get someone pregnant and bail on them. Granted I'm also not opposed to abortion if there is no way we can keep the kid. Yeah I know the adoption angle too and either one is good in my book. Anywho, back on track. There are a few things I hold dear in life and they are:
Take responsibility for your OWN actions. If *I* do something it's my fault. If *YOU* do something it's your fault no matter how much you think you can blame me...You dit it...You own up to it.
Hitting women is bad. (Unless of course they come at you with a weapon menacingly) I don't care if your woman cheated on you, made fun of your penis to her friends, or didn't do the dishes. You have no right to touch them if they do not wish to be touched. Left an opening for all you rough sex havers.
And trust...Not like I say I'm going to be some place and don't show up...I forget things I'll be the first to admit it. I mean trust as in you can trust me to never do something illegal that would implicate anyone else in any fashion. Or trust with personal properties, effects or chitlins. If you put something you love in my care you can trust you'll get it back...Someday...Yes I still have Doots cookie sheets after like 2 months stop riding me woman! |

Hrem, well my thoughts on that is: if a women is violent toward her bloke - he should have a right to defend himself with a sensible degree of force. Why the hell should he just take it? Hitting your 'loved one' for crappy reasons is wrong, no matter the gender. I think men get a bad wrap if they are ones at the end of the abuse - and a lot of men don't own up to it because it's embarressing to admit your wifey, or girlfriend is beating you up.
But blah - yeah, I don't agree to uneeded violence. Men are generally stronger than women and the men that abuse their strength need a kick in the pants. Irrisponsible people generally suck.
I don't like violence in real life - even though I've learnt a lot of martial arts, I don't like fighting (save play-fighting  Or sparring).
But yus - yus. People have brought up a lot of supportive points here in this thread. That type of person infuriates me. Sure it's pretty simple to have sex, the act itself is basically implanted into our instinct, but we are (or you'd hope to think so) intelligent beings, taking responsibility for the act of sex isn't a hard concept to grasp. Stay clear of that dick, he's no good to you or your kid (which you very well know) and don't let his shadow ruin the life of the child. Sure he helped make it, but that doesn't mean he'll help shape the child to adulthood. You have a groovy chance to nurture and support your child, to teach it morals and give it a good education. DNA means crap-all when rearing your kid.
I have a step-father.
Even though we are not genetically related, I concider him to be my true father. He raised me, he cared for me and he and my mother love each other very much and that is awesome. My biological father ran off with some chick when I was 4 / 5 years old, I don't get birthday or xmas cards from him since I was 7 / 8 years old. Not because he couldn't but because he just hasn't bothered. Funnily enough, he cheated on the woman he had initially ran off with and probably has done so again - who knows. I am not interrested. What's important, is that my 'step'-father was there for me and still is. He is an awesome Dad. (and he got all emotional when I told him that ~awwwww ) |
