I think the spin the bottle thing is only symptom of a much larger problem. Kids know way more than the should about this soprt of thing. I mean, when i was in 6th grade i still thought girls were icky. BUt at my highschool boys and girls weren't allowed to sit on the same side of the bus cuz a couple of FITH GRADERS were caught getting busy in the back seat.
There is a very big problem in this country and it is attacking the very innocence and nievete(sp?) of youth. I hate the fact that our culture trys to make kids grow up soo much before they are ready.

As for the thumb warriors... i forsee a tremendous flop and may God have mercy on their creator's soul.

Zzyxx, you have articulated, perfectly, what the problem of kids today is. I could not agree with you more. Let kids be kids...

First off thumb wrestleing will always be done with bare hands thats just how it is. And the marketing people should know that.
Second.....
WTF electric spin the bottle? I could say a lot but you all have already made all the very good points. Hell if I had to put an aging group to it I would have to say 14+. But then again I wouldn't had made that game.

The problem isn't really that they know too much about that sort of thing, it's that they don't get to know it RIGHT. It's like ... giving guns and bows to kids and telling them to play cowboys and indians but not tell your kids about the importance of not shooting people with guns (and bows :p) in real life and just ... leave them ''entertain themselves'' on their own.

But ya, that tumbwar thing sure seems useless, but I guess I could say ''why dive in a world that just exists on the internet to play a fantastic medival character when you can do it in the real world without needing to buy anything, and just use your free imagination?'' Rolling Eyes

That was my origional reaction when I saw this in Walmart. Why the hell does spin the bottle need to be electric? Isn't it just about trying to kiss people? But when the stinking age recommendation caught my eye...

Wait just a second here... You saw this in...WALMART? As in....pushing good old-fashioned values on their customers and the world Walmart? And they're selling products which encourage 9 year-olds to kiss each other?

That's really funny...because when I think about good old-fashioned values, I don't remember Wally and The Beaver kissing anyone over a rousing game of spin the bottle....with or without a "gross bottle that didn't spin very well".

Not surprising. Same Wal-Mart that's been accused of firing people for complaining of sexual harassment...

The same Walmarts that won't sell music with vulgar language encourages statutory relations. Hmmmm.... interesting.

The same Wal-Mart that told Garfield Games that they wouldn't sell M:tG because of Satanic imagery, then still wouldn't sell it after multiple cards were Bowdlerized (the reason why 4th Edition was called "Wal-Mart Magic"). And that wouldn't sell a Sheryl Crow album because she mentioned killing someone with a shotgun bought at Wal-Mart.
