The CPU chips maybe Intel, but that says absolutely nothing about the peripherals, BM. Even now that OSX has some *nix infrastructure, it's still probably an Apple OS for Apple hardware. I don't know how true this is now, but I'd bet that you can't get MacOS to run on an x86 because MacOS natively has zero clue how to find any hardware other than Apple's.

Hmm there could always be drivers made for the standard x86 hardware. If I remember right theres video card drivers for even RISC processored Macs to run like Radeons and stuff.
