Wow that really is horrible. There is not really anything to say but, I wish I had been around, cause nobody treats a woman like that in my presence 
but where was this guy paul when this went down? Why didn't he do anything? |

He was standing right there. However, the whole thing happened so fast and unexpectedly that nobody had time to do anything. Immediately afterwards, he was doing what he could to help her. I have no hard feelings against him, and she's very grateful to him.
Still looking for the deranged asshole. Word is he's back in town...hopefully he'll be arrested shortly. |

well he better be charged with assault with potentially lethal weapon (just to ''kick'' someone can be enough to charged with attempt murder in some states) but ... he had steel-toed boots? that's a miracle she's still alive.
This calls for a manhunt. |

Umm...no manhunt please. That's a bit extreme, and isn't going to help anything. We know where he is now, and he's cooperating. Things are starting to resolve and work out. I don't know exactly what's going on because she can't say anything right now, but good things are happening. She needs Will alive for the court case though.
I'm just glad this is starting to resolve. She goes into surgery in an hour, so keep her in your thoughts and prayers. |

ah ok
Sorry if I did sound extreme, I just couldn't accept the fact that he ran away, and that dispite being tracked down by the police, he had yet to be found... you can be sure that I too would want to see him taken cared of so it doesn't happen again, not only to her, but to anyone else. Glad to hear he's been cooperating.
I hope things keep on getting better for your friend. |

I really hope that angry gets what he deserves.
Send my condolances along to Heather, she will be in my prayers and i pray both that she makes a speedy recovery and that the grace of God reduce the pain.

How is Heather doing after the surgery? Is this the only one she'll need, or will she have to make multiple visits to the OR? How is she doing mentally? Sorry to bombard you with questions. I know I don't really know either of you. I am concerned, though. I live vicariouly through PO.

Honestly, I can't answer those right now. She went into surgery at 1 PM eastern time today, and she's probably still at the hospital. She needed some pretty major reconstructive surgery, but hopefully this one went well and it's the only one she'll need. I won't know anything more until she gets access to a computer.
Mentally, she's doing better than I expected. She's better than I would have been in the same situation. She's gotten past most of the disbelief and blind rage. She's still angry, but she's able to distance herself from the situation now. She and Will have talked (I'm still not sure if that was a good idea or not, but it's her decision), and they're working towards some sort of closure. Obviously, the court case is going to take awhile, and she can't tell people a whole lot until the case is closed. Overall, though, I think she's doing pretty well. |
